Before that, there were a coup and deployment by USA military (1950s), Palestinian guerilla attacks and IDF retaliations on Lebanon (1960s), with the oppression of south Lebanon and Beqaa, and then a civil war (1970s to 1990) which all Lebanese fought in.

As for the economic problem, Hezbullah's mistake is to turn a blind eye and focusing on the resistance activity in Lebanon and other arenas. That aside, Lebanon's economy was always destined to crash...the economic model is deeply flawed.

This was supposed to happen in 2014-2016 but BDL Salameh postponed it to 2019-2020 by using depositors money.
