For what it's worth, I think it's Israel that uncovered the plot and informed the Jordanian king.
Israel doesn't actually care if the coup leaders were more loyal to the west and Israel then the current, the issue is they need to preserve the stability of Jordan. Because instability there will turn into a threat to Israel's stability.
