The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia bans the import of Lebanese vegetables and fruits after it busted a second attempt this year to smuggle drugs inside fruits from Lebanon into the kingdom.
The issue here is that KSA, aside from being a major captagon market in MENA, only banned Lebanon's only imports there in this such dire economic situation Lebanon is facing now, when it didn't ban imports when it busted drug shipments from Jordan, Syria, Turkey, etc
Some facts:

In 2020, Lebanon exported vegetables and fruits for Saudi Arabia worth $ 29 million. The same amount of export worth of vegetables to Syria.

Saudi Arabia imports a lot of things other than vegetables and fruits from us, worth $165 million.
KSA is very right to demand Lebanon to ensure the safety of the imports ( being free of drugs).

What a disgrace. Lebanese security forces can't get one thing right in Lebanon. It's high time Lebanon declares a real campaign against drugs and hash in Beqaa and the Syrian border.
Update:

President of the Syndicate of Exporters and Importers of Fruits and Vegetables in Lebanon:

"There is no pomegranate season in Lebanon, and the seized shipment is not Lebanese, but rather it passed through the transit from Syria through Lebanon to Saudi Arabia."
The associate government commissioner to the Military Court, Judge Mona Hankir (Hanghir), charged the former head of the Bureau of narcotics control, H.M., and two of the officers, with the crime of drug trafficking after they sold confiscated pure cocaine.
