🇱🇧 Lebanon just announced 17 new cases of COVID-19, raising today's total to 32 and the national number to 110 cases. I will make a breakdown for these cases in detail and how only 27 cases have infected 70+ residents. @COVID19Up

🇱🇧 Regarding the COVID-19 cases in Lebanon there is currently 97 cases. Out of these 97 cases, only 27 were infected outside Lebanon in countries like Iran, Italy, UK, France and others. Therefore the infection rate in Lebanon is theoretically: One can infect 2.5.

Going deeper into the 27 infected cases they are distributed as:
🇮🇷1- Iran (12)
🇬🇧2- UK (4)
3- Untraced (3)
🇳🇱4- Netherlands (2)
5- 🇪🇬Egypt, 🇫🇷France, 🇨🇾Cyprus, 🇦🇹Austria, and 🇨🇭Switzerland (1)

Now regarding how local infections happened:
🇮🇹1- The single Italian case infected 34
🇪🇬2- The single case from Egypt infected 17
🇬🇧3- The single case from the UK infected 7
🇮🇷4- The twelve cases from Iran infected 5

Note: The video was made an hour before the final count. 17 new cases were then announced with all being connected to the 🇮🇹 Italian, 🇪🇬Egyptian, and 🇬🇧 British cases.

-- Beirut Municipal police are clearing people from Beirut’s corniche ahead of a formal announcement of a state of emergency over the coronavirus.

Lebanese will keep acting irrationally until they start dying on the roads like Iran, Italy, and China.
-- Higher Defense Council ends meeting at Baabda Palace and its Secretary General will announce the decisions shortly.
-- Association of Banks: In line with the Cabinet’s decision to declare a state of emergency in the country, we announce that the banks will temporarily close until March 29, 2020.

And how can people get money?
-- President Michel Aoun: We have never failed to proactively follow up on the situation, and we have swiftly taken the necessary measures to confront the spread of the coronavirus.

-- Aoun: Everyone is called to take precautions and abide by the health measures; these hardships will allow us to take a break from our everyday lives and work from home so that institutions can remain as effective as possible.

-- Aoun: I share your concerns but fear never stood in the way of the Lebanese, so let us seize these days and prove that we are worthy of life and capable of overcoming all difficulties.

-- Aoun: We must translate human and social solidarity in innovative ways, and we all stand as one in front of any danger that threatens the safety and life of all Lebanese.

🇱🇧 The Lebanese high council of defense called for general mobilization after it concluded it's meeting to fight @COVID19Up.
-- Decision to set up checkpoints for the army and security forces will be effective starting tomorrow to prevent buses from operating on roads.
-- Diab: We are in a state of medical emergency, so the government is announcing a general mobilization until the end of March 29.

-- PM Diab: We have successfully slowed the spread of the coronavirus and we have developed a scientific, practical and proactive strategy to protect the Lebanese people.

-- Diab: I call on the Lebanese people to be on the highest level of alert to contain the coronavirus.
