An armed clash in Ain al-Hilweh refugee camp at dawn today, in which grenades and machine guns were used.

Jerusalem: One of the worst scenes today in Al-Aqsa.

After the blatant interference of the American ambassador to Lebanon, Dorothy Shea and the French, Anne Grio, the German ambassador to Lebanon, Andreas Kindl, published a tweet that was considered inciting the Lebanese against each other, issuing judgments and accusations about who bears responsibility for disrupting the government, and epithets about who will be elected by the Lebanese people.

It was as if he was calling the next Lebanese parliamentary elections useless, accusing the common Lebanese of supporting corruption.
President Aoun called the Supreme Defense Council to a meeting this afternoon to discuss the security situation and current developments.

Shortage of fuel:

The minister of industry after meeting President Aoun decided to allow factories to directly import diesel and other oil derivatives without prior permission, in accordance with Resolution 66/2004.
According to Al Manar correspondent, majority of gas stations are closed and queues are building up again.

We are back into the fuel crisis in terms of the delay in opening credits, so we ask Banque du Liban to expedite paying so that the ships can unload their cargo.

US embassy in Beirut:

US Treasury officials will visit Lebanon to discuss issues related to corruption, illicit financing, and counter-terrorism (i.e. countering Hezbullah).

They will visit Lebanon between 19-21 July and will meet with interlocutors from the financial sector and civil society groups (NGOs).
The Presidency of the Republic sets Monday, July 26, as a date for parliamentary consultations to nominate a new Prime Minister.

The detailed schedule of appointments will be issued shortly.
⋯ This is faster than last time, but it is unclear who they are planning to name. No leaks yet.

Are FPM and Hezbullah going to form alone a government similar to Diab's but with more loyal ministers instead of technocrats, or do a compromise on a unity government?

Diab's government failed for several reasons:
⬥ Amal made sure to obstruct anything done by FPM, and vice versa.
⬥ The USA had several loyal ministers, including minister of defense and deputy PM Zeina Akar.
⬥ France refused to cooperate.

Election at Syndicate of Eng.:

The new head of the Syndicate of Engineers, Aref Yassine from the village of Houla in south Lebanon, cemented his victory speech after his nomination yesterday by attacking Hezbullah and accusing it of being the protector of the current Lebanese system.

Aref Yassine is close to anti-Hezbullah activists from Al-Amine family, and generally supportive of Lokman Slim, a pro-Israeli activist who was murdered on February ⁠4.

In the past 24 hours, Lebanon recorded 215 new COVID-19 cases and one new death.

About 15,000 PCR tests were done.
Between the 4th and 10th of July Israel recorded 1,736 new cases of COVID-19.

85% of the new cases are of ‘’fully vaccinated’’ people.
