-- #Lebanon social affairs minister on delays in handing out $140 in aid to those in need:

"Errors" found in lists of names put forward by his ministry (for the most poor), the transport ministry (for taxi/van drivers) & education ministry (for families w/ kids in public schools)
-- Breaking: Lebanon Social Affairs Minister says he believes 70-75% of Lebanese are in need of aid.

Poverty level in 2020 was already 45% pre-coronavirus.
-- The US Dollar-Lebanese Pound exchange rate hit an unprecedented 3000 today.

The currency has now lost half of its value in about 6 months.

Officially, it is still pegged at 1500. Lebanese have lost 1/2 of their life savings and have lost 1/2 of their purchase ability.
🇺🇸🇱🇧-- The Lebanese Ali Kourani who was accused of being a member of Hezbullah and is currently in U.S prisons tested positive for coronavirius in prison.
-- A car was targeted near Al-Haidari Syrian-Lebanese borders from an 🇮🇱 UAV and no injuries reported.
-- IDF today in one of their posts parading a Hezbullah flag after they took it from the border area.

They have a habit of doing so especially during 2006.
-- IMF: Lebanon faces challenges due to the coronavirus and the current financial and economic crisis; the Lebanese authorities have inquired about the possibility of emergency financing, but have not formally requested any funding from the IMF.

-- Breaking: Lebanon PM Hassan Diab announces LL1,200 billion ($400 million at market rate) in aid for daily workers, agricultural workers, small industries and others to help deal with economic crisis and coronavirus effects.
-- Diab: We have started discussing a plan to boost the economy, but we will not rush any step at the expense of citizens' health.
-- Haircut will touch accounts +500K$.
-- Former PM Saad Hariri has arrived at the Center House after being abroad for a while.
-- Instead of giving people their money, the central bank is giving fresh dollar bills to exchange offices to allegedly decrease the exchange rate.

It's one of the days when I wonder if we have an economist as our central bank governor or a shepherd.
