-- The Lebanese army resumes it's distribution of the financial aid to the families of those who got wounded or families of those killed by mines.

Next phase will be the families whose children are in public schools.
-- Lebanon Central Bank allows depositors w/ foreign currency accounts to withdraw cash in Lebanese Pound at market rate set by banks.

This is huge.

People can now circumvent 6-month old capital controls by voluntarily turning their dollars into volatile local currency.

From today's protests in Tripoli cursing the current PM that has been in his position for less than 100 days and demanding Saad Al Hariri to come back. These protests are simply by Hariri's supporters.

-- A Lebanese man tried to set himself on fire at a bank in the Bekaa today after they refused to give him his money, state media reports.

At least 2 others have attempted self-immolation earlier this month, while another man succeeded and died.
-- MP Sethrida Geaga: The completion of the last stage of construction and equipment of Mar Mama Governmental Hospital requires approximately one million and 300 thousand dollars, and we have so far received donations of about one million dollars.

🇱🇧 For the first time since Feb 21, when the first case was recorded in Lebanon, Lebanon announced zero new cases today.

In the last few days Lebanon registered 1 case Sunday, 4 cases on Monday, and zero cases today. @COVID19Up
-- Lebanon: Seven people found dead with gunshot wounds in a wooded area of Baakline in the Chouf, local media reports. They say the dead are five Syrians and two Lebanese.

Details of what happened are unclear.
-- MTV correspondent: Among the 9 victims of the crime in Baakline, a woman was found decapitated in a house near the crime scene and her husband and children are missing; the gunman used a pump-action rifle to kill the victims.

Her husband and another man are accused of this massacre.
-- Lebanon legalizes cannabis production for medical and industrial purposes.

No change to any laws on the recreational production or use of the substance, which remains illegal.
-- Parliament suspends the urgent status of the amnesty law and Speaker Berri referred all law proposals related to amnesty to joint committees.

Kataeb, Lebsnese forces, and Aoun's FPM party are all against it.
-- Lebanon Speaker Nabih Berri this morning: "Parliament goes about its legislative and oversight role and more, no mater what they say."

Berri this evening: "Enough concealing the truth: "Parliament is unable to go about its oversight role due to the sectarian system."
-- Comemorating the 100th birthday anniversary of Lenin in 1970, Lebanon issued stamps on the 22th of April 1970.

-- Hezbollah Members of the Parliament in Lebanon presented a law allowing the justice body to interrogate Ministers if suspected of corruption. Most MPs rejected it and the law failed to pass the parliament.
-- Parliament decides to drop the urgent status of the law to lift banking secrecy.
-- Lebanon parliament agrees to pay out LL450 billion ($150 million) to private hospitals in money owed to them.

Parliament said that accounts must first be audited before money is paid out.
-- The Lebanese govt's $400 million aid program that MPs failed to endorse today:

-LL400,000/month for 200,000 families over 8 months
-LL20 mln each for 7,000 SMEs
-LL4.5 mln each for 30,000 farmers
-LL4.5 mln each for 3,300 vocational workers
-$1 million each for 200 industries

It failed after Hariri and Joumblat's party left the session.
-- Protesters from Barja started to gather on the highway trying to block it.
-- Regarding S Nasrallah's speech tonight, it is a religious speech about Ramadan, he said that he may give another speech in few days to speak about politics and developments in the region.
