Banque du Liban exchange platform SAYRAFA has reached a trading volume of $12 million today, at a rate of 21,300 LBP/USD.

The actual “black market” exchange rate in Lebanon is 26,950 LBP/USD. That's a 23.4% difference.

SAYRAFA is the central bank's trading platform, which is used by importers to procure dollar bills. However, what is unclear to most, is why shops are pricing food and goods at black market rates when their importers are obtaining USD at cheaper rates. Huge profit margins.
