Incident with UNIFIL: The Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced that “Prime Minister Najib Mikati and Minister of Foreign Affairs Dr. Abdullah Bouhabib discussed the incident that occurred with the Irish battalion of the UNIFIL”.
The Ministry regretted the incident, which happened in the village of Shaqra (Bint Jbeil District), noting that “in light of the communications, we are awaiting investigations into this incident”. It confirms that “it does not accept any form of aggression against the UNIFIL forces” and stresses on “the safety and security of its personnel”.
