🚨 Israel announced that it will accept only Jewish refugees, after the quota of 5k non-Jews was reached today.

On 6 March, Interior Minister Ayelet Shaked lamented that 90% of the 2,034 Ukrainians who arrived in Israel were not Jews and that it “cannot go on”. “We can't keep going at this rate”, Shaked said. (Haaretz)

A deposit of 10,000 shekels (~3,000$) was required for the non-Jewish Ukrainians to be hosted by a relative. Last week, Shaked said guarantees were paid in only 20% of the cases.
