⋯ Another case was a mechanic recruited after applying for a trucker job. He was flown to Europe where he met Israeli Mossad officials. More on these soon by Al-Mahatta who got access to the confession paperworks from the EU-trained Information Branch in…
Continued thread:

One of the Lebanese spies was identified as Elia, a mechanic born in 1980, arrested for the suspicion of working with Israel. The investigations revolved around his meeting with Israeli officers in Georgia.

In 2019, Elia applied for an international trucker job. Soon, he was contacted by a Lebanese diaspora identified as Ziad Attallah, who claimed to work in transportation. Over weeks, he was interviewed and asked if he's interested in travel. Communication resumed over Skype and email where Elia was given trivial tasks.
⋯ Ziad (Mossad) asked Elia to locate a house near the sea and close to Beirut for rent, and Elia was able to secure a house. [This was likely to provide Israel's “Shayetet 13” unit a safe house in Lebanon]

Elia was paid as of now $1,500 and then headed to Georgia to meet Ziad.

⋯ Elia landed in Tbilisi, Georgia, in late 2019, where he was expecting to stay for 9-10 days. However, when he landed he was surprised none were present to meet him, so he got a taxi. At the hotel, a Mossad handler gave him a box with a phone and a new Georgian SIM card to contact Ziad.

Two days later, he was moved to another hotel where he met Ziad and a group of operatives, for two days in a row, before changing of hotel again. Later that week, he was searched and subjected to two lie detector tests, where he failed in both.
⋯ His lie regarded the question if he worked for any security service, which Elia happens to have been part of, in the Lebanese army intelligence. Elia gave up, booked a ticket, and travelled fast to Lebanon fearing Mossad might backstab him for failing, as Elia claimed.

However, when the army started to review his phone, they refuted his claim that he was in hurry to leave Georgia, as it was exposed that he was using his phone to watch porn, and clearly not (as he claimed) without an internet connection. By reviewing his Google account, it was exposed that he was searching for ways to defeat the lie detector to land a job with the Mossad, which made it clear with the investigators that he knew who he was in contact with.

He also attempted to re-establish contact with Ziad one month after returning to Lebanon.

⋯ Investigators were unsatisfied with his answers regarding the magnitude of his services, based on the large sum of money he received and the Israelis' trust to meet him.

His trial lasted few hours, shortest in decades for suspected spies. He was acquitted and released, despite the unsatisfactory answers and the weapons he had at home.
