Sayed Hashem Safi El-Din:

"We have always said and affirmed that what is required of the state is to announce the extent of the borders and then the Lebanese can gather with their army & resistance to preserve their rights.

🛑 Lebanese Prime Minister Najib Mikati: Israel is trying to impose a fait accompli in a disputed maritime area, and Lebanon adheres to its rights in ownership.
🛑 Israeli response to Media: Senior Israeli official: The lies and threats towards Israel are an attempt by the Lebanese government to divert the attention of the Lebanese people from their corruption leadership and incompetence (1/2)

⋯ Senior Israeli official: Karish is a natural gas reservoir within Israel’s UN-recognized exclusive economic zone. The lies coming out of Lebanon suddenly claiming that this is a disputed area can be disproved by the UN and contradicted by Lebanon’s own stance in the past (2/2)

Even if somehow things go in Lebanon's favor and Lebanon gets its share from Karish, Lebanon has no deals for any pipelines to sell this gas unless it uses the pipeline Israel built by an agreement with Turkey and Europe.

Lebanon is a decade late to the party. twitter.com/resist4ever_/…

Minister of Labor Mustafa Bayram: Aoun, according to what we know, asked the army command to clarify where the Greek ship will be located, and accordingly he will act.
😁7
⋯ Does Aoun and his MFA not know it doesn't matter where the ship is when the gas field is shared and not seperated by an actual physical border between Lebanon and Israel?

So the ship can stay in Israeli waters but will be mining Lebanese-share gas too.

Though Hezbullah SG was very outspoken about the advantages of Lebanon mining and making billions in the next few years, he didn't say we will "attack" the Greek mining ship but rather mentioned an escalation ladder that starts with threats, "flying a UAV" near, and so on twitter.com/WithinSyriaBl…

⋯ It is highly unlikely Hezbullah will attack the mining ship because it's not Israeli, not owned by Israel, and not manned by Israelis. A more likely scenario, if a decision to confront is taken, is to create an unsafe environment where the ship's crew leave.

⋯ The Lebanese government, since the day PM Foad Siniora sold Lebanon to Cyprus & Israel, and today with Mikati and Aoun, have no taken a maximalist position that includes Lebanon's full rights and then negotiate a fair settlement. They just chose to play along with the US promises
⋯ Lebanon is in a tough situation because of what Foad Siniora did with his agreement with Cyprus and eventually Israel about Lebanon's real borders.

This is a map circa 2000 from a company that did petroleum exploration in Israel. Notice the borders based on Siniora's deal.
