Following Hezbullah's threats, Greece summoned the Lebanese chargé d'affaires and informed him that the ship in Karish was not owned by the Greek state but rather a Greek-Israeli businessman.

Note: Nasrallah didn't threaten Greece, but rather the ship itself.

One of the biggest obstacles of the Lebanese-Egyptian electricity deal, is the U.S objection against Syria taking a % of electricity as a fee for the transit lines that go through Syrian land.

According to the U.S. administration, hunger is acceptable.

⋯ According to the Lebanese minister of Energy, the project is on hold due to "political challenges".

Despite U.S's claim about a waiver for Lebanon against Caesar sanctions, no actual waiver has been issued by the Biden administration. The loan is on hold.
⋯ Similar to Syria, government-generated electricity provides a daily maximum of 1-3 hours.

The rest is covered by private generators which are not available in Syria.

Reporter Salem Zahran, close to Amal Movement: "The Americans informed Lebanon that claiming Line 29 will lead to war [with Israel] and U.S. sanctions." Line 29 is where the Lebanese maritime border with occupied Palestine ends.
Lebanese officials' standpoint is likely as follows:

1- We legally own line 29
2- We will not claim line 29
3- Israel claims line 23 is disputed
4- UN recognizes line 23 as ours
5- We will negotiate to give Israel line 29 and we get line 23 undisputed, thus don't share Qana
⋯ Qana is a possible gas field over the line 23 and beyond.

Karish is a proven gas field with massive riches to be generated from. Karish lies at line 29.

Lebanon might be gambling for nothing.

⋯ The French energy company Total, which Lebanon renewed its contract few weeks ago, said that it will not drill in contested waters. So it won't drill in line 23 nor 29.

⋯ Energean, the Greek energy company which has the rights to exploit the Karish energy field, has taken out a $2.5 billion loan to finance the Karish project. The first instalment of that loan, some $625 million, needs to be repaid by first quarter 2024.

⋯ A better version of the map above:

⋯ On a final note, despite Hezbullah strongly stating line 29 is lebanese, and despite it believing that Karish is mostly Lebanese, it will likely drink the poison and accept line 23 if the Lebanese government ends up negotiating that.
