What's funny about the situation in Israel, is the shallowness of the word democracy.

The "only democracy" in the ME, according to the combined west, was being under pressures by the US and protestors to not perform its democratic rights in a parliament.

As much as the reserve Israeli soldiers threaten to not come to base for their reserve duty, this boycott is only effective during peace time. They will arrive during war.

This is well understood by the Resistance.

The situation only end the IDF's "people's army" status.

With the parliament being the only remaining plenipotentiary institution, Speaker Nabih Berri accuses Gebran Basil and Samir Geagea's parties of sabotaging its work by sidelining its ability to carry its duties.

Lebanon has no president, no government, and soon no central bank governor.

In light of this, Berri called for a parliamentary session to choose and elect a new central bank governor. Per tradition, the position is held by a Christian Maronite and such position requires a presidential signature, a Christian too.

Riad Salameh's term ends soon.

🎓 The UN urges Lebanon to adapt school curricula to Syrians

Lebanon's Ministry of Education has been informed by UN and European officials that school curricula should change to accommodate the Syrians, reveals today newspaper Addiyar (27 July). Syrians account for 50% of all pupils in Lebanon.

In their demands, separate afternoon schedules for Syrians must stop, new books must be printed to reflect integration, and Syrian teachers should be allowed. The UN and EU approach, which has also been “adopted by the US”, requires that associations distributing aid to the Syrian refugees must work without government interference, and laws that “the UN considers ‘racist’ against Syrian workers” must be repealed. If these demands are not met, there will be “economic and financial sanctions”. Funding for the new year is under threat.

The ministry of education has rejected these demands.
