⋯ So it's important to understand that once blood is shed once, it'll be shed again.
Lebanese sects are not defined in single geographical areas, and all provinces contain Muslims, Druze, and Christians.

⋯ Hezbullah being an army that operates in Beirut, Beqaa, and the south, they will definitely have to pass through areas that are politically against them.
The road today is an international road that Hezbullah moves on between Beirut and Beqaa. It's one of the very few roads.

⋯ It's a strategic road that Hezbullah is forced to use to move from X to Y.
Today's events will only highlight yet again the vulnerability of Hezbullah's logistics if anti-Hezbullah Lebanese are willing to act on their stance during a war between Hezbullah and Israel.

⋯ There is real hate, and though Hezbullah wants to see others as simply political foes, the foes see Hezbullah as an enemy to be fought.
Those are the people that fought a 15 year civil war, where they carried the most repulsive mass massacres.

⋯ However Hezbullah is adamant at absorbing the situation and not get dragged into an internal conflict that he will win, but will bleed enough to make him unfit to fight Israel.
A long internal conflict will exhaust Hezbullah's units.

⋯ However, what was interesting today that Hezbullah has changed two things:
1- He gave orders to shoot if shot at or attacked. This was not the case in Shwaya
2- The use of harsh words like "militias" and issuing statements that are "confrontational"

⋯ The thing is, Hezbullah is far greater than Lebanon and the only remaining thing that is worthy in Lebanon, and it feels fed up of the simplistic political lust of its politicians.
No wonder Nasrallah said he is disgusted and bored with talking about politics. He's fed up.

⋯ Though Nasrallah has the loudest voice in Hezbullah that stresses in avoiding confrontation and turning "the other cheek" if attacked, and is adamant at maintaining a good relationship with Christians.
Nasrallah is proud they didn't take revenge from the SLA after 2000

⋯ Of avoiding to punishm the traitors for Israel, so it won't be labeled an attack on Christians or their villages that cooperated with Israel.
That, while FPM continues to disrespect Hezbullah and its leadership, treating it as a simple part of the Lebanese political shit show

⋯ So all in all, the situation today will end without further escalation, but another will happen again.
Hezbullah's relationship with FPM will never fully heal. Hezbullah was betrayed.
LF and Kataeb will continue to train and gather weapons. (They have known training camps)

The moment the truck was identified as owned by Hezbullah, locals started to attack it with rocks and attempted to reach the cargo.
Fadi shot at the security detail knowing they are Hezbullah.

⋯ Everyone from Gebran Basil's party trying to say Fadi was protecting his village from unknowns with weapons is lying.
When the truck fell, it was treated as a normal traffic accident, and there is video footage to prove it.

⋯ Not until people knew it was for Hezbullah did they attack, forcing the truck's security detail to shoot in the air to deter them. No injuries.
Fadi then proceeded to shoot and kill Ahmad, in his back. Then and only then was Fadi killed and sent to hell.

🛑 Kataeb party leader Samy Gemayel announces the end of their “political” struggle against Hezbullah, and the start of a new stage where they explore “non-political” approaches.
Update (Twitter): “To my comrades in the Phalangist party, I say: know that your party has moved to a new stage, and as of today our struggle is existential and is no longer a traditional political struggle.”

U.S. Treasury sanctions Riad Salameh after 30 years of tenure
The US Treasury's Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC) sanctioned today former Lebanese central bank governor Riad Salameh, his son Nady Salameh, his brother Raja Salameh, his aid Marianne Hoayek, and his child's mother Anna Kosakova. All are accused of participating in embezzlement and corruption schemes.
The US protected Salameh until the end of his tenure (on 31 July), which started in 1993. In 2022, US Ambassador Dorothy Shea pressured PM Mikati to block the subpoena against him. In 2021, US State Department's David Hale said he “hasn't seen any evidence” of corruption. Under Western pressure, Salameh sought to close Hezbullah's non-profit bank Qard Al-Hasan that is not part of the official banking system.
