Believe it or not, the Israeli army is still afraid.
While attacking Gaza from the air and sea is easy with zero consequences, the Israeli army is afraid from even using such attacks against Hamas and PIJ targets in Lebanon.
Whatever they attacked in Lebanon, was empty targets and unmanned towers, excluding the first day and it's unclear if they knew the site was manned.
With mortars, infiltrations, and recently rockets fired from Lebanon by Palestinian groups, the army's hands are tied in fear. How long does that last, is the important question.

⋯ The position of the USS Gerald R. Ford can be used to show the range of some airborne assets that are aboard the carrier Israel, Gaza and Lebanon are very much within range of F-18s, even more so with tanker support.
Based on the location of CVN-78 and CG-60, we can estimate the radar range for both ships out to the horizon for possible targets up to 100km altitude.
These ranges cover nearby ships (10-100m), aircraft (1-10km), and ballistic missiles (100km).
The E-2D Advanced Hawkeye, based aboard the USS Gerald R. Ford, is likely being used to monitor the ongoing conflict between Israel and Palestine. Assuming a typical station distance of 200 nautical miles, we can see the radar coverage encompassing Israel, Palestine, and Lebanon.

⋯ From the New York Times about these GoPro footages:
«The 10 gunmen from Gaza knew exactly how to find the Israeli intelligence hub—and how to get inside. After crossing into Israel, they headed east on five motorcycles [...] Ten miles later, they veered off the road into a stretch of woodland, dismounting outside an unmanned gate to a military base. [...]
«For a moment, the attackers appeared uncertain about where to go next. Then one of them pulled something from his pocket: a color-coded map of the complex. Reoriented, they found an unlocked door to a fortified building. Once inside, they entered a room filled with computers—the military intelligence hub. Under a bed in the room, they found two soldiers taking shelter. The gunmen shot both dead.
«This sequence was captured on a camera mounted on the head of a gunman who was later killed. The New York Times reviewed the footage.»
