📰 Yesterday, an explosion took place south of Eilat, inside an Egyptian city 200km away from Gaza.
The IDF Spokesman Rear Adm. Daniel Hagari, issued a statement claiming that they were battling a threat there, and possibly shot it down.
"In the last few hours, an aerial threat was detected in the Red Sea. Fighter jets were scrambled to the threat and the issue is under investigation," the IDF said
They added that: "to our understanding, the impact that was in Egypt originates from this threat. Israel will work together with Egypt and the US and tighten the defense against threats from the Red Sea area."
Earlier this week, the US announced intercepting rockets and drones fired from Yemen. Additionally it's important to note that Iran operates ships carrying weapons in the Red Sea.
