📰 US soldier deployed for Lebanon & Israel during the Gaza war killed

Five U.S. Army Special Operations troops were killed in a helicopter refueling accident off the southeastern coast of Cyprus on Saturday morning, according to U.S. officials familiar with the incident.

The troops were in the region as part of broader American contingency planning due to the war in Gaza, which has included preparations for possible evacuations/operations in both Lebanon and Israel if they are needed.

The helicopter that went down was an MH-60, a variant of the Black Hawk flown in Special Operations units.

📰 Israel's government debates wether killing 10's of thousands or 100's of thousands in Gaza is enough

Israeli media claims that Netanyahu and Justice Minister Levin wanted to minimise civilian casualties in Gaza, in an attempt to avoid international backlash after killing 10,000+.

However, National Security Minister Ben-Gvir has voiced in several government meetings the need to kill Gazans indiscriminately

While Levin said:

“We must make this distinction between those not involved and those involved. We are making a tremendous effort to avoid harming those not involved.”

Ben-Gvir replied:

“You keep talking about non-involved, but I want it to be clear. Is this old man running with a stick to abuse civilians non-involved? He is a terrorist, he is indeed involved. Anyone who distributes candy and encourages murder is involved.”

Netanyahu reacted:

“We will not kill hundreds of thousands.”
