But then, the army was already split into a Muslim, Christian, and zionist one.

During that year, USA forces were targeted and ambushed by Amal and PSP.

Dahyeh was the Palastinian strong hold of Palastinians and anti phalanges.

-- During this period, the attacks on USA forces decreased due to the army's campaign against PSP and others in Aley.

-- However when the battle against the army became more fierce, they requested American assistance.

USA helped them by shelling using a ship for 5 constant hours, in support of the secterian army led by phalanges then.

-- Due to the increase help of the USA troops to the Lebanese army, the American troops retreated from Hay Al Selom ( Dahyeh) fearing retaliation.

-- However it was only weeks later, when two attackers simultaneously attacked the American marines and French paratroopers at 6:22 am.

The cars of the attackers passed through the red circle seen in the pictures.

Only 3 minutes sperated the first and second attack.
