- BREAKING - The Lebanese Government has resigned
- PM Diab to address the Lebanese at 7:30 PM tonight.
What the resignation of the government means is that the latter will now have no power and will only continue its work until a new one is formed

The president will call on parliamentary blocs to name a new candidate for the position of PM. To form a new government, the new PM will hold negotiations with the blocs that named him. If he doesn't do so, his government will not be given confidence in the parliament.

Failing to do so, another person will be named and so on.
If the parliamentary blocs resign, a new elections would he done using the same laws of the last elections.

This will usually produce the same parties with minor changes. (FPM is expected to be the most affected)

Then what was mentioned above will happen, and so on.
Opinion: Protests and pressure on the parliament to change the electoral law can produce a new, non-sectarian, parliament (with Lebanon as one constituency). This could bring a true representation of the people.

Not only that, this true representation could allow to elect a president without the need of deals between the sectarian political blocs. Thus, the chances of having a new independent PM will be bigger. The way for building this nation is through ending the sectarianism.

But do not be optimistic too soon, both the international community and the sectarian parties are preparing for a new unity government.

Saad Al Hariri? Yes he's likely to come back.

The investigation? Yes it's likely to be procrastinated for months and years after this.
A man I won't name suggested in 2012 to Lebanese and political parties to start forming a founding conference to reformulate the system and update the constitution and form a new republic.

He was attacked by all, but it is high time this proposition wakes again to save Lebanon.
