🇮🇱l🇺🇸 Israel has requested that the US send a second THAAD battery to protect the country in case of an Iranian reaction to an expected Israeli reprisal attack, Channel 12 reports.
The Pentagon on Sunday confirmed that Washington will send one advanced air defense battery to Israel, along with American soldiers to operate it.
The THAAD is considered a complementary system to the Patriot system but can defend a wider area, capable of hitting targets at ranges of 150-200 kilometers (93-124 miles).
Each battery consists of six truck-mounted launchers, 48 interceptors, radio and radar equipment, and requires 95 soldiers to operate.
One THAAD battery costs from $1bn to $1.8bn and the USA has only 7. Each missile costs about 13 million dollars. That's 625 million dollars for all 48 missiles.
If the US was to defend against an Iranian attack similar to last time, they'd need to pay about $2.5 billions from U.S. tax payer money for a war not authorized by Congress and on behalf of Israel (free money)

The 3 operations used strategic accurate missiles and drones, targeting the following Israeli bases:
- Haifa city
- Ain Shamir base east of Khedera
- Eliazer bade west of Haifa
None of these attacks resulted in sirens. Only during one, a David Sling air defense was reported. No impacts reported.
