UNIFIL vehicles closed the main road of Wadi al-Hujayr at the foot of Qantara for some time, and the soldiers searched the surrounding area before the patrol headed towards Wadi al-Khanazir at the foot of al-Qusayr, Alaman and Deir Siryan to search for possible resistance facilities.

(Qantara was ransacked by the Israeli army a wee ago when they entered it. This town was very far from anywhere they reached during the war)

🇱🇧 A while ago, a Lebanese army bulldozer closed 3 intersections in the town of Burj al-Muluk with soil barriers.

They are: the Royal Pool intersection, the Salama Press intersection to the south, and the Al-Jazeera Road intersection.

All of these intersections lead to the south of the Marjeyoun plain towards KfarKela.

This is likely to block any new Israeli attempts to violate the ceasefire and reach the town

🇱🇧 Hezbullah Secretary-General Sheikh Naim Qassem will have a speech today on the anniversary of the martyrdom of Qassem Soleimani and Abu Mahdi al-Muhandis.

🇱🇧 Mohamed Raad in his first public appearance in month, meets Nabih Berri at his residence

Head of the Loyalty to the Resistance bloc, MP Mohammad Raad, considered that the Israeli enemy continues to violate the ceasefire agreement "to address its inferiority complex."

He said that "the Israelis are committing shameful violations to compensate for their failure on the ground, and preserving national sovereignty is everyone's duty."

He said, after visiting Parliament Speaker Nabih Berri in Ain al-Tineh: "We are proceeding on the path of our martyrs and will not compromise our principles and will deal with every new development according to these principles."

Raad called for "investing our capabilities and our Lebanese identity in order to preserve our country and live together with dignity and preserve everyone's rights,"

...considering that "reform is only right if it is comprehensive and directed towards achieving national and public interests and not factional interests."

Raad indicated that he conveyed a greeting from Hezbullah Secretary-General Sheikh Naim Qassem to Speaker Berri.

According to th details, "the steps of the ceasefire supervision committee and the presidency file were discussed."

Raad's visit to Ain al-Tineh comes 5 days before the session to elect a president of the republic is scheduled to be held on the ninth of this month.

💸 According to various financial reports, there are shortages in Lebanese pounds that forced banks to ask for loans from each other to cover that, but are being given at high interest rates.

This made banks move to offering people a very high interest rates on their LBP deposits, which can help them (banks) cover their shortages and at the same time be lower than what other banks are asking from them (banks).

Regardless, Lebanese are using the USD in day-to-day transactions which is helping stabilize the local economy and currency.

🇱🇧l🇸🇾 Israeli army vehicles seen carrying out digging and entrenchment operations in Tal Ahmar Gharbi, near the town of Kodna in the Quneitra countryside adjacent to the Golan Heights.

Vehicles and military equipment were used to reinforce their positions in the area, which the Israeli army penetrated in Quneitra on December 8.

The bodies of 3 more Hezbullah martyrs were found in that one neighborhood in Khiyam town, according to civil defense.

The town witnessed the most intense battles for 66 days straight.

🇱🇧l🇫🇷 The force that did this was the French.

It's usually always them. No coordination was done with the Lebanese army, which is mandatory, as there is no changes in the UN's mandate.

🇱🇧l🇸🇾 Conditions for entry of Lebanese citizens into Syria:

1. Have residential permit
2. Be married to a Syrian
3. Be Syrian son or daughter
4. Written consent from Syrian General Security

I find this treatment noteworthy because the new Syrian administration knows very well that the visitors to Syria now are their Lebanese supporters and not Lebanese who are against them.

They are disrespecting their own allies and their friends, and it's not the "gotcha" moment they think they made.

Lebanon has similar rules against Syrians because the refugee crisis and the security situation.

Last time I visited Syria it only needed a stamp from the Lebanese general security, them a stamp from the Syrian general security.

The Syrian side was much better organized and professional, ngl.
