❗️Even though Lebanon's president claimed there is no truth to extending the Israeli stay in Lebanon to 15 days, the U.S officially announces it.

US says Lebanon-Israel ceasefire has been extended another three weeks until Feb. 18. This is in regards to the full Israeli withdrawal from Lebanon.

The wording isn't clear. The war ended, this isn't an extension of the ceasefire but an end of the Israeli presence in Lebanon.

The three countries will also begin talks on the return of Lebanese prisoners captured after Oct. 7, 2023, per White House.

The ceasefire agreement is clear. The Lebanese president and PM accepting a 22 days extension of Israeli presence is paving the way for another extension, then another, then another.

This is unacceptable. 3 more weeks is unacceptable.

The White House statement doesn't even clearly state the IDF will withdraw by 18-Feb and it would be the last extension.

This weak behavior will lead to bad outcomes.
