One of the most important factor that people didn't understand during the Syrian civil war is that the Sunni tribes were Al-Jolani's strongest weapon.

His ability to rally them, their obedience to his authority, the families ties offered him the strength he needed to fight, rule, and triumph.

Today these Sunni tribes are the ones fortifying his rule and giving his army the manpower and the firepower.
