On the Day of the Army, the Lebanese president Aoun issued a long statement that included direct attacks on Hezbullah and its community calling on them to disarm before they cause further wars and to avoid suicide by staying as an armed faction.
He made the words sound sweet but they dripped with venom.

Lebanese President Joseph Aoun says the Americans have presented Lebanon with a draft proposal, and the Lebanese side has submitted key amendments, which will be presented to the Lebanese government early next week. These are Lebanon's demands:
1. An immediate cessation of Israeli hostilities in the air, at sea, and on land, and an end to assassinations.
2. The withdrawal of Israeli forces to the international border.
3. The extension of Lebanese sovereignty over all its territory.
4. The disarmament of all armed forces in Lebanon, including Hezbullah, and the transfer of weapons to the Lebanese Army.
5. The transfer of $1 billion annually to Lebanon over a period of 10 years from friendly countries to support the Lebanese Army and security forces and enhance their capabilities.
6. The holding of an international donor conference for the reconstruction of Lebanon during the coming winter.

Salaries now are bad, including officers, but before 2019 is what I was describing and which they are working on trying to restore through these funds.
