I'll speak this frankly, the only thing the army did was artillery and airstrikes, and then securing the liberated areas after Hezbullah captured them.

The army lost only 3 martyrs killed when their car drove over a mine and not in combat, while Hezbullah lost 13 in combat
That's just for the second phase against ISIS, however lost another 21 in the first phase against Al Nusra.

Mentioning them as fellow combatants is the least he could do, because they did so to the army. https://t.co/ynVuzH0dgd
This night, between the 4th and 5th of September, Hezbullah successfully carried one of its best operations against the IDF in the village of Ansariyeh, south Lebanon in 1997.

Here's what happened 🔽

In September 1997, a force of 16 soldiers from the elite naval commando unit Shayetet 13 was ambushed by Hezbollah while on a mission deep in Lebanon. 11 of the commandos were killed in the firefight that ensued, including force commander Lt. Col. Yossi Korakin, and a doctor.
The incursion into Lebanon that night was part of a covert Shayetet 13 operation near the coastal town of Ansariya with the objective of planting two special IDF explosives in the area. The target was a senior Hezbullah commander and Hezbullah HQs in South Lebanon.
But something unexpected happened when the unit fell into an ambush laid by Hezbullah using "Sejjil" anti personal IEDs killing 11 out of 16 of the whole force.

A blow that took the IDF decades to understand how it happened. Did Intel leak, did our explosives detonate? https://t.co/73CTI4RJI1
At first they said: Ya'alon concluded that the first explosion, which knocked the commandos to the ground, came from explosives carried by the Israeli soldiers themselves, thus decisively determining Hezbollah did not have advance information about the operation.
And so it was, blaming each other or blaming an accident until 20 years later, the IDF finally confirms Hezbollah was able to intercept intelligence while being transmitted from Israeli drone, giving it advance knowledge of naval commando operation deep inside Lebanon.

This comes after 7 year, when Hezbullah's Secretary General Sayed Hasan Nasrallah declassifies the drone footage that Hezbullah was able to hack over a period of weeks over Lebanon.

The drone's activity was how Hezbullah knew of an operation and its track. https://t.co/jlwcMeA6o7

After that, Hezbullah stayed for weeks in those fields waiting setting IEDs at night and removing them at dawn before the farmers would come, until the night of the 5th when IDF's elite units fell in the ambush.

A glorious day for Lebanon's resistance against occupation https://t.co/iBOqECC9NB
