On this day a Lebanese hero was assassinated. A hero who truly loved the Lebanese army and who did not stay idle about it's state and decay and who openly stated what it needs in weapons and equipments and did not care about the USA or NATO.

On this day, USA killed a hero.

On 12 December 2007, major general François Al Hajj, who was expected to be the new COS, was assassinated through a VIED in the suburb of Baabda near MOD. Four other people, including his bodyguard, died in the attack.
