A redditor who witnessed this commented "It’s right by my apartment and was walking back from the march and soopers. It was like 25 people who seemed to be looking for trouble. They could turn left on chestnut and march all they wanted. But they were not allowed access to I-25."
Another witness attested "I was at the protest the ones that got gassed kept trying to take the highways and not keep it peaceful not saying they had it coming but the were trying to make us look bad."

Over the years, "It's Going Down" has posted numerous claims of responsibility for domestic terrorist attacks, including an attempt by an Antifa militant to derail a train, which led to the website being mentioned in a federal criminal complaint. The website has also posted manuals on carrying out crimes and evading detection for terrorist attacks.
