Confusionism (noun) is an ideology that that "regards confusion as the chief source and test of knowledge". Confusionists agree that the universe is too complicated for any individual, group or computer to understand and hence the sole purpose of life is to confuse as many people as possible with multi-disciplinary jargon, contradictory axioms and obscure language.

Confusionism differs from obscurantism as confusionists do not obscure knowledge to limit the understanding of a topic, but to genuinely hold the belief that the only true source of knowledge is a state of mental breakdown due to informational overload.
