Satan exaggerates the value of the things that you don't have and undermines the value of the things that you do have. He's been using this trick from the very beginning, and he's still using it today. Life could not be more perfect than the garden of eden yet satan convinced Eve that the grass was greener elsewhere. You see, Satan is a master of painting a perfect picture and he uses the insatiable nature of our desires to always thirst for better. The cycle of thirst and emptiness never ends until we realize that all we need is God.
