Atmosphere 251 will host a two-day tribute to the life, music, and activism of Afrobeat legend Fela Kuti this weekend on 19 & 20 October 2024. The celebration begins on Saturday at 2 PM with Afrobeat DJs, followed by a fashion show featuring Nigerian designs at 6 PM, with clothing items available for purchase and Nigerian cuisine by Chef Sade. Sunday’s events include a talk and workshop on Fela’s legacy, moderated by Andre Amadi, along with a documentary screening, more dancing, and Nigerian dishes. The event is free and open to all.

CBE Digital Payments Surpass 828 Billion Birr in 32
The Commercial Bank of Ethiopia (CBE) reported that its digital payment platforms processed transactions worth over 828 billion birr between August 5 and October 6, 2024.
According to the bank’s data, more than 145 million transactions were conducted through various digital payment channels during the 32-day period. Mobile banking accounted for 84% of these transactions.
