Lego, an internationally renowned children’s brand, with its colorful interlocking plastic bricks, is setting foot into the Ethiopian market. The franchise store is set to be launched in collaboration Zion Business group.

The company has announced plans for an opening ceremony set on Friday, 28 March 2025, at Ambassador Mall.

The lego company founded in 1932, is based in Billund, Denmark. In 2015, Lego became the largest global toy company by revenue. The name lego is derived from the Danish phrase leg godt, meaning “play well”.

On 28th March 2025, The LEGO Store Ethiopia officially opened its doors today at Ambassador Mall with a grand ceremony. The event was marked by a ribbon-cutting ceremony led by Ergoge Tesfaye, Minister of Women and Social Affairs, and Ambassador Sune Krogstrup, Ambassador of the Kingdom of Denmark.

A press conference was held during the event, presented by Eyerusalem Endale, CEO of the LEGO Store Ethiopia. Several high-profile figures attended, including Mihretekirstos Tamru, Executive at the Ministry of Women and Social Affairs, and Amleset Muchie.

The store is located on the third floor of Ambassador Mall in 4 Kilo offering 18+ different toy collections, providing Ethiopian children with access to a variety of LEGO products.

The Spring Festival on 5th April 2025 at the Kids Eco Center in Zoma Village offers an afternoon of nature, play, and creativity.

From 2 to 4 PM, children aged three and up can enjoy an Easter egg hunt, creative workshops, and storytime. Activities include egg painting, wooden bunny crafts, and crochet.
