Join me this Saturday at 6:30 EST for a special Artist Spotlight stream. I will be joined by this wonderful family, the creators of the beautiful heathen children’s book Little Wolf & Friends. We will also be joined by my own artistic daughter and some friends of the channel. Will be recorded for all who can’t join us live. I am so looking forward to this! We have so much talent in the Folkish community and it’s an honor to highlight our youth.

A lovely conversation with a heathen family creating beautiful & meaningful heathen children’s books. It’s so incredible to see the amazing things our families and youth are creating. Make sure you go show your support on their channel. Hail our Folk!!

I want to thank Lucky and Scarlet @ Little Wolf and Friends for this great book, "Little Wolf"!
Great experience tonight with this book and my 4 y.o.
Backstory is that he is our 3rd and youngest kiddo. His older 2 siblings got bed time stories appropriate and engaging for their age with lots of pictures and fun. He, however, was read to at the same time recently and has not had much of the same "fun" and illustrated story experiences, so he has not been a fan of bed time story time. He never wanted a bed time story and specifically asked me NOT to read at bed time multiple times. This nearly broke my heart as a dad that cherishes this time of day.
My wife and I talked about how he doesnt get read the illustrated, fun books for little ones, so I tried to read him those books with no luck. He STILL had no interest.
Well, we currently still go with the flow of Xmas timing despite my being Heathen now. I bought him this book for today, just HOPING he would let me read it to him. Upon opening the wrapping today, he IMMEDIATELY said, and I quote verbatim, "I don't like it" and walked away.
Heart definitely broken. Ugh.
Well, Im a determined old fart, so just now, I asked him to come to the couch with me. He sat in my lap as I asked if he would let me read the book to him and he said yes, thankfully.
HE LOVED THE BOOK! He was totally engaged, noticed Ratatoskr on the 2nd page, counted everything on each page, pointed at all the other animals and wanted to look through it again! I was so happy he let me read to him and he apparently liked it enough to want to put it on display in our tree!!
So, I dont know if Lucky and Scarlet are in here, but BIG thanks to yall!!

I wanted to share this great little book "Little Wolf: You Can Count on Me." My children loved going through it together! They had fun counting the animals on the pages and hearing the simple mentions of hailing our Gods and honoring our ancestors. It's an interactive story that introduces bravery and our Native European Folk traditions in a kid-friendly way, without getting too deep into the lore. Ideal for starting that conversation with the young ones.
