🎙Read excerpts from the statement by Deputy Permanent Representative of Russia to the OSCE M.Buyakevich
«On increasing military involvement of certain NATO member States in yet more confrontation in and around Ukraine» (meeting of the OSCE PC, 25.04.2024)
💬 Investments of Washington and its satellites in an armed confrontation in thousands of kilometers from their own borders are considered by them as a way to support their economies at the cost of thousands of lives of Ukrainians and other Russian people, as well as at the cost of destruction in cities and sufferings of civilians
🇺🇸 Back in December 2023, US President J.Biden publicly stated that 90% of all funds allocated to support the Kiev regime never went beyond the United States and worked for the benefit of American enterprises. It is no coincidence that the U.S. and UK consistently discourage their puppets in Kiev from achieving a viable settlement, which would have taken into account the legitimate interests of Russia. They just demand to continue armed hostilities and provide for it new parties of weapons - obviously, until the moment when mobilized Ukrainians as a resource will run out completely
☝️ It is obvious to the leaders of the Kiev regime, as well as to their supervisors in NATO countries, that even with new military supplies, the Zelensky’s armed formations are and will not able to ensure a military turnaround on the battlefield. The collapse of the Kiev regime is inevitable and is only a matter of time, both due to the obvious incomparability of the military potentials of the confronting parties, as well as due to the steadily declining motivation in the Ukrainian armed formations
🌐 Sponsors of the Kiev regime are trying to involve maximum number of countries to participate in the conference planned in June in Switzerland with regard to the “10-point formula” supposedly authored by Zelensky. In fact, this is a formula for war and an ultimatum to Russia. Our diplomats and officials, of course, will not join this hostile initiative.

❓: Dear Ambassador Antonov, how could you comment on the latest accusations by the White House against Russia after our country vetoed the proposed by US and Japan draft UN Security Council resolution on the non-deployment of WMD in space?
💬 Anatoly Antonov: We regard all the statements of the U.S. Administration on this topic as an information provocation and part of a propaganda war against Russia. The local authorities have not bothered to explain what is the "added value" of this resolution. The 1967 Outer Space Treaty already prohibits the placement of WMD on orbit. The refusal of the United States to include in the text of the document the proposed by the Russian side amendment regarding the non-deployment of weapons of any kind in space speaks only of Washington's hypocrisy.
☝️Let me remind you that it is the United States that has been ignoring the initiative of Russia and China to conclude the Treaty on the Prevention of the Placement of Weapons in Outer Space for many years. The reason is that the US side seems to have come to believe in its ability to prevail in the arms race they are spurring on. In 2020, the US established the space command and adopted a space strategy that involves creating a comprehensive military advantage in near-Earth space over rivals. It is no secret that the Pentagon is engaged in the development of orbital strike-warfare equipment, including for the missile defense purposes.
👉 Russia remains committed to its international obligations. We call on the United States to demonstrate, not in words, but in actions, its readiness to take steps to develop such an agreement that would not contain any loopholes for the militarization of outer space.

🗓 On April 26, 1945, the Red Army liberated Brno from the Nazi invaders as part of the Bratislava-Brno operation.
In early April 1945, the Red Army expelled the Nazis from Bratislava and by April 22, units of the 2nd Ukrainian Front breached the Wehrmacht’s Moravia defensive line and encircled the Brno sector. The Soviet forces launched an attack on the Nazis the following day.
🏭 After Czechoslovakia was occupied, a highly important industrial centre Brno became a significant production hub of the Third Reich where Skoda and Zbrojovka weapons manufacturers were located. One of Auschwitz sub-camps was also located there.
For those reasons the Nazi invaders mounted desperate counterattacks in an effort to halt the Red Army’s onslaught. However, by April 25, Soviet units had already reached several sectors of Brno, engaging the enemy on the outskirts and crossing the Svitava River. By the evening of April 26, Soviet forces established control over the entire city. On the same day, Moscow ordered a 224-gun artillery salute to commemorate this event.
🎖 The 1st Czechoslovak Army Corps, under the command of Ludvik Svoboda, and Czechoslovak partisans played an active role in the liberation of Czechoslovakia, providing substantial support to the Red Army units. Six Czechoslovak citizens were awarded the noscript of Hero of the Soviet Union for their deeds during the Great Patriotic War, more than any other foreign nationals.
☝️ With the liberation of Brno, the Red Army was able to outmanoeuvre the remaining enemy forces on a broad front, preparing for a direct assault on the Nazi forces, occupying Prague.

#Opinion by Russian MFA Spokeswoman Maria Zakharova
💬 The old colonialist ideologies persist; moreover, in the 21st century, indigenous peoples continue to endure increasing hardships under the dominance of European and overseas colonial powers.
Take Greenland, for instance. It’s officially an autonomous territory under Denmark, inhabited by the Inuit. They have their language, beliefs, culture, land, and cities. However, the land was colonised by Northern Europeans, and later the Americans, without consulting the locals, established a military base on the island. In 1968, an American B-52 bomber carrying thermonuclear bombs crashed there, resulting in widespread radioactive contamination.
As a result, Inuit Greenland transformed into a colony and then into an autonomous territory within the Kingdom of Denmark with the added presence of American military forces.
Like all Western metropoles, Denmark, and consequently the EU, extracted resources from the island. Recently, Ursula von der Leyen, the gynaecologist-turned-head of the European Commission and recipient of the 'Ms Vaccine Corruption' noscript for the 2020-2021 season, visited Greenland. Were the locals of any interest to her? Their living conditions, social issues? Despite being formal residents of an EU member state (though Greenland itself is not part of the EU), they were not.
Ursula went to Greenland to assess its mineral resources. According to The Guardian, “the autonomous Danish territory is of strong interest to Brussels, especially for highly sought after raw materials.” Her special adviser affirms his boss’s interest: “Greenland had many of the raw materials – such as rare earth elements and metals – that it needed for its green transition.”
Meanwhile, the Aftonbladet newspaper featured an article detailing the disregard and violation of the rights of the Sami, the small indigenous community of Northern Europe, in Sweden.
Erika Bjureby, head of the local Greenpeace office, and Anna Johansson, Secretary General of Amnesty International Sweden, write, “The enduring hostility toward the Sami people is resurging. Presently, oppression intertwines with the exploitation of the natural habitats crucial to the Sami’s livelihood. Sweden neglects indigenous peoples’ rights, prioritising land exploitation over Sami well-being.” Sweden will continue exploit the Sami land and oppress its population. What future awaits the Sami in such a country?
In Canada, the indigenous residents, the First Nations, the Indians have suffered racism from London and then Ottawa for decades. Tragic stories emerge from boarding schools where numerous Indian children faced abuse and death. Last month, Karen Hogan, the country’s auditor general, criticised the federal government’s mismanagement of Indigenous housing issues. Despite a budget of 45 billion Canadian dollars for housing and communal services, only under 4 billion was allocated. Consequently, indigenous people continue to reside in substandard housing, while their homes remain neglected compared to those of “respectable whites.” Justin Trudeau may talk a lot about reconciliation, but the harsh reality reveals persistent discrimination and banal colonialist racism in Canada. Statistics indicate that over half (54 percent) of respondents became victims of incidents due to their race or ethnicity.
NATO countries exhibit racism and harbour colonialist attitudes towards other ethnic groups.

🎙 Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov’s remarks and answers to media questions during a joint news conference following talks with Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Plurinational State of Bolivia Celinda Sosa Lunda
📍 Moscow, April 26, 2024
💬 Bolivia is one of Russia’s priority and budding partners in Latin America and the Caribbean. We stated that our bilateral ties had become noticeably more active in almost all areas and were developing steadily.
• We are interested in strengthening our partnership and taking it to a qualitatively new level.
• We discussed regional and global priorities. Russia and Bolivia are consistent like-minded partners when it comes to genuine democratisation of international relations with the central and coordinating role of the United Nations, provided that we all firmly and unwaveringly follow the principles of the UN Charter in their entirety and interrelation.
🌎 We support Bolivia's active role in the processes unfolding in Latin America and the Caribbean.
• We are in favour of a speedy resolution of the problems plaguing the region, including a long-standing need to immediately lift the unlawful trade, economic and financial embargo against Cuba. Alongside Bolivia, we oppose attempts by external forces to interfere in the internal affairs of Latin American countries, in particular Venezuela and Nicaragua.
From the answers to media questions:
💬 Comrade Minister reaffirmed Bolivia’s sincere interest in joining BRICS. She emphasised its quickly growing authority and appeal amidst the Global Majority countries.
• Russia supports Bolivia’s aspirations. As the 2024 BRICS chair, Russia wants to ensure that as many countries as possible, that wish to get closer to the association or become its members or establish permanent partnerships, receive a concrete positive response.

💬 Your visit to the Russian Federation is an important foreign policy event. Bolivia is our good friend and one of our key partners in Latin America and the Caribbean. We have been promoting long-term, multilateral agreements with Bolivia, which are based on mutual respect, trust, and an orientation towards concrete results.
We have a high regard for Bolivia and its leadership’s policy of protecting their national sovereignty and upholding the key principles of international relations, primarily justice and sovereign equality.
We have started an exchange of views and assessments with regard to various international challenges at G20 events held in Rio de Janeiro in February of this year.
Today, we have a good opportunity to exchange opinions on the situation in world affairs, doing that in a more detailed and substantial manner. This situation is developing rapidly and calls for the unification of all supporters of justice and equality the world over. <...>

⚡️For the MEPs who voted for it, the resolution on the Russian presidential election was a kind of final chord in their "anti-Russian song", which they had been playing in various variations throughout the five-year legislature.
This time, helpless anger is coupled with a spring aggravation. One last question to ask the outgoing MEPs: do they really fail to realise that their opuses such as this are perceived by everyone as an attempt to interfere directly in the internal affairs of third countries?
❗️All this seems to prove once again that MEPs live in a world of their own, or, as they say in the European quarter, in a “bubble”. Well, it will burst at the European Parliament elections scheduled for 6-9 June 2024. Let us see if the next “bubble” remains as full of anti-Russian substance.
