⚡️ Russia's Foreign Ministry Statement in connection with Israel’s strikes on Iran

Read in full

💬 We express our profound concern regarding the dangerous escalation of tensions in the Middle East.

❗️ We strongly condemn the military actions undertaken by the State of Israel on the night of June 13, which constitute a clear violation of the UN Charter as well as established principles of international law.

Unprovoked military strikes against a sovereign member state of the United Nations, against its citizens, peaceful cities, and critical nuclear energy infrastructure facilities, are totally unacceptable. The international community must not ignore such acts, which not only jeopardise peace but also undermine security both in the region and globally.

The timing of these attacks appears to be particularly cynical as they have occurred amidst a session of the Board of Governors of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) and just ahead of the next round of indirect talks between representatives of the Islamic Republic of Iran and the United States. These actions have drastically undermined the progress of painstaking multilateral diplomatic efforts aimed at reducing tensions and seeking solutions to eliminate suspicions and the bias surrounding Iran’s peaceful nuclear programme.

It is evident that West Jerusalem has made a deliberate decision to further escalate the situation and raise stakes. We have warned on numerous occasions about the destabilising effects of military ventures that threaten peace and security in the region. The full responsibility for the consequences of these provocative acts lies with the Israeli leadership.

We are closely monitoring the actions by the IAEA, which carries significant responsibility in this challenging situation. IAEA personnel, alongside citizens of the Islamic Republic of Iran, have also been exposed to Israeli strikes. We expect the IAEA Director General to provide balanced and objective assessments of the current developments – in particular, a comprehensive analysis of the potential radiological consequences of the attacks on nuclear facilities in Iran.

We also hope that the Western countries, which provoked the recent wave of anti-Iran hysteria at the IAEA Board of Governors, once again pushing through a short-term resolution tailored to suit their political preferences and entrenched phobias, despite its lack of broad international support, will come to realise the dangerous consequences of their destructive approach as well as the degree of responsibility they bear for the unfolding tragedy.

☝️ We strongly believe that, regardless of any justifications that may be offered by those who planned, developed, and carried out the attacks, the issue of the Iranian nuclear programme cannot and must not be resolved by military means. A sustainable settlement is only possible through peaceful, political, and diplomatic efforts.

We sincerely hope that this understanding will ultimately prevail. We call on the parties to exercise restraint to avoid further escalation and prevent a full-scale war in the region.

In this context, we note that the US is ready to hold another round of talks with Iran on the latter’s nuclear programme in Oman.

🎥 'Shaping architecture of equal and indivisible security: challenges and opportunities for states of Global South and East' — a documentary by Russia's Security Council.

Synopsis: The global political and economic landscape is undergoing profound transformation. We are witnessing a pivotal moment in history: the unipolar world order has reached an impasse, while multipolarity has become a reality. This shift has opened a window of opportunity to establish a fairer and more democratic world order.

Among the most consequential developments in recent international affairs is the emergence of a group of countries known as the World Majority. This grouping represents not only a new force in global politics and economics but also a catalyst for reshaping the structure of international relations.

The growing influence of the Global South and East is a natural and inevitable process. Their rise reflects not only changes in economic strength but also a broader rebalancing of global power.

🌐 Spanning Asia, Africa, and Latin America, the Global South is poised to play a pivotal role in defining the future of the global economy.

The countries of the World Majority refuses to submit their foreign policies to external interests and are firmly committed to preserving their cultural identity, traditional values, and national foundations.

☝️ The development of an architecture of equal and indivisible security offers a crucial opportunity to forge more resilient trade and scientific-technological partnerships, capable of withstanding the geopolitical, economic, environmental, and other pressing challenges of our time.

🎙 Statement by First Deputy Permanent Representative of the Russian Federation to the UN Dmitry Polyanskiy at a UNGA Meeting on the UNSC Annual Report (New York, June 11, 2025)

💬 Dmitry Polyanskiy: Mr. President,

Russia has been consistently supporting efforts to refine the working methods of the Security Council, including in preparing relevant UNSC reports to reflect the activities of this body (which is the main UN body under the Charter), as well as the main challenges it faced during the period in question.

This year, the duty to introduce this comprehensive document fell upon our country. The report, which was submitted on time, contains information on the measures to maintain international peace and security that were undertaken by the Council from January 1 through December 31, 2024.

👉 As a responsible permanent member of the Security Council, from the very get-go, we sought to be as constructive and balanced as possible while working on this important document.

It was imperative for us to prepare a comprehensive “product” that would contain an analysis of the main types and areas of the Security Council’s work during the reporting period. At the same time, we also strived to take into consideration the views of all other member states and the proposals they voiced during the interactive dialogue that we organized jointly with the President of the General Assembly in January.

Our joint efforts have resulted in a document that has served as an important mechanism for informing other member states about our work.

We are pleased to note that this year, in early February, we were able to finalize the introductory section. We credit this to the merit of all members of the Council who contributed to preparing this draft, including those who were members of the Security Council in 2024 – Malta, Mozambique, Switzerland, Ecuador and Japan.

☝️ Such an outcome proves that the Security Council is able to promptly and collectively address the tasks assigned to it.

Ukraine continues to implement forcible connoscription. Facing frontline personnel shortages, Kiev has to invent new methods of forced mobilisation.

Between February and June, some 1.5 million individuals previously deemed partially fit for service were compelled to undergo repeated medical examinations. It is not surprising that over 90% of them had their previous deferment status revoked.

The Verkhovna Rada has approved in the first reading a draft law on “voluntary mobilisation” of men over the age of 60. They will be offered a one-year service contract, subject to approval by commanders and the General Staff, with a two-month probation period and possible termination.

Ukrainian Banderite activists are now asserting that Ukraine is approaching a point where not only men but also women and youth aged 18 and above should be prepared for a potential draft. This subject is widely circulating in the media.

Driven by the instinct of self-preservation, the Zelensky regime will stop at nothing, including sacrificing schoolchildren and will send them to die without hesitation.

#KievRegimeCrimes

According to the head of the Porechnoye rural council, Yelena Zhadanova, all remaining residents in Russkoye Porechnoye village were killed after the Ukrainian troops occupied that village in the Kursk Region. She said that 92 residents, mainly elderly people, remained in the Sudzha District since its invasion, and only 10 of them managed to get out of there. By the time the village was liberated in March, 2025, 48 people were dead and 34 were missing.

#UN #Ukraine #DoubleStandards

During the May 27 news conference, Stéphane Dujarric, Spokesperson for the UN Secretary-General, delivered another biased statement regarding the Ukraine crisis, which runs counter to his high position at the UN Secretariat.

He claims that Antonio Guterres “condemns” allegedly large-scale Russian strikes on Ukraine on May 24-25 of this year whereas he is just “concerned” over Ukrainian drone attacks on Russian territory.

The Secretary-General predictably ignored that Russia was only hitting Ukrainian defence industry enterprises with high precision weapons whereas the Kiev regime was deliberately targeting our country’s civilian population. It is indicative that he presented the Russian strikes as an established fact while the Ukrainian drone attacks as “reported.”

We regard this statement (attributed to Antonio Guterres) as further evidence of bias and double standards of the UN leadership.

#ZNPP #IAEA

Under the pressure of the West, the Agency’s leadership is still reluctant to publicly find Ukraine guilty of creating threats to the ZNPP nuclear and physical security.

We regularly provide information on the Kiev regime’s provocations against Russian ZNPP and its staff to the IAEA member states at the Agency’s policymaking sessions.

#SPIEF2025

🎙 Russian President’s Aide Yury Ushakov's Comment on the telephone conversation between Vladimir Putin and President of the United States Donald Trump (June 14, 2025)

💬 Yury Ushakov: President of Russia Vladimir Putin and President of the United States of America Donald Trump have just had another telephone conversation.

The conversation lasted for about an hour, to be precise, for 50 minutes, it was substantive, sincere and, the main thing, very useful.

Naturally, the dangerous escalation in the Middle East was in the focus of the discussion.

Vladimir Putin denounced the Israeli’s military operation against Iran and expressed a grave concern over the possible escalation of the conflict, which would have unpredictable consequences for the entire situation in the Middle East region.

Our President advised the US counterpart on his yesterday’s telephone contacts with the Israeli Prime Minister and the President of Iran.

❗️ The Russian side stressed the exigency to thwart conflict expansion and Russia’s readiness to provide possible mediation.

The President of Russia reminded that before the current escalation, our side had proposed concrete steps aimed at reaching mutually acceptable agreements during the talks held by US and Iranian officials on the Iranian nuclear programme while Israel launched strikes virtually on the eve of the next negotiation round scheduled for June 15.

Russia's principle-based approach and interest in the settlement remain unchanged. As Vladimir Putin noted, we will continue to act proceeding from this position.

For his part, Donald Trump also views the situation as very alarming admitting, however, the effectiveness of Israel's strikes on its targets in Iran. But it is characteristic that the Russian and US presidents, notwithstanding such a complicated situation, do not rule out a return to the negotiating track on Iran’s nuclear programme.

Incidentally, as Donald Trump noted, the team of US negotiators is ready for resuming work with Iranian representatives. As it is known, five rounds of such indirect talks took place with Oman’s mediation.

In addition, our President also informed Donald Trump about executing the agreements reached by the Russian and Ukrainian delegations in Istanbul on June 2. Our President underscored that these days we are performing an exchange of POWs, including those seriously wounded and under 25 years of age. Ukraine has also accepted two batches of dead bodies.

☝️ The Russian Side has expressed its readiness to continue its talks with Ukrainians, as agreed, after June 22. Donald Trump took note of this information and reiterated his interest in bringing the Russian-Ukrainian conflict to a speedy conclusion.

Of course, Vladimir Putin wished Donald Trump a happy birthday – the President of the United States turned 79 today. Both leaders have expressed satisfaction with the established personal relations that make it possible to communicate sincerely and in a businesslike mode, search for the resolution of pressing issues on the bilateral and international agendas regardless of how complicated such issues may be.

Vladimir Putin also noted that the United States are celebrating Flag Day today and 250th anniversary of the US Army. As in their previous conversation, both presidents noted their brotherhood in arms during the Second World War.
🇷🇺🇹🇷📞 On June 15, Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov and Foreign Minister of the Republic of Türkiye Hakan Fidan had a telephone conversation, with the Turkish Side initiating the conversation.

The Foreign Ministers exchanged views on the unprecedented escalation in the Middle East following Israel’s military action against Iran.

Both Parties were unanimous that it was imperative to cease the hostilities immediately and prevent a further spiral of violence with the most serious and unpredictable consequences for the entire region.

The Turkish Side praised Russia’s unwavering resolve to act as intermediary to facilitate mutually acceptable solutions to existing disputes, including those related to the Iranian nuclear programme, as part of establishing sustainable talks.

#Artek100

🎉 Today, on June 16, 2025, Artek International Children’s Centre is celebrating the 1️⃣0️⃣0️⃣th Anniversary of its foundation.

Established in 1925 on the shores of the Black Sea as a sanatorium for children suffering from tuberculosis, Artek evolved into the largest and most recognisable children’s centre both in the USSR and beyond. In its first year, Artek received 320 children, and this figure only increased in subsequent years.

During the Great Patriotic War, Artek was occupied by German and Romanian invaders, who demolished part of its infrastructure to build their fortifications. Hostilities prevented some of the children from returning home, and nearly 200 of them were relocated to Altai, where the Artek All-Union Young Pioneer Camp operated until January 1945. During the war, the Artek children raised 116'000 roubles, which were used to fund a T-34 tank donated to the Army at the front

Artek was liberated on April 15, 1944, in the course of the Red Army's offensive. A large-scale reconstruction project was launched at the camp immediately, with considerable funds allocated for its restoration. Soon after the war, it was once again ready to accommodate children.

In May 1985, a monument to the liberators of Artek was erected to mark the 40th Anniversary of the Soviet people’s Victory in the Great Patriotic War. In July 2016, an Alley of Artek Heroes was opened at the International Children’s Centre in memory of the Artek alumni who perished during the war.

In the 1960s, the 'Greater Artek' project by architect Anatoly Polyansky was implemented, transforming the camp into a modern complex with advanced infrastructure. By the end of the decade, Artek had 150 buildings, three medical centres, a school, the ArtekFilm studio, three swimming pools, a stadium with 7'000 seats and various playgrounds.

Following Crimea’s reunification with Russia, Artek experienced a new era of revival. The camp has been continuously renovated and expanded. Since 2014, 360'000 children from 80 countries visited Russia’s International Children’s Centre, while more than 1'800'000 children have attended since its first shift.

👉 Today, Artek is a multifunctional centre for children and teenagers, consisting of nine children’s camps (spread across 218 hectares). Artek boasts its own educational technologies and cultural traditions, as well as a modern infrastructure, including educational and sports facilities, concert halls, research laboratories, and open-air spaces for outdoor activities.

The Artek International Children’s Centre is one of Russia’s largest educational venues, offering ample opportunities for rest and recreation. It hosts numerous competitions for schoolchildren, festivals, workshops, conferences, forums, marathons and sports events.

🎊 Artek is the ideal meeting place for active and knowledge-thirsty children from around the world, where everyone finds new friends, engages in exciting activities and builds unforgettable memories.
