This is the law of unintended consequences and Klaus Schwab must be seething in anger. For the French lower middle class has simply started a firewall. You want to burn us down, we will burn down things first. This is how countries end. Lower middle class versus the bourgeoisie and the gentry.

A sixth Republic should be near if the strikes continue and we will be hard pressed to see who is going to replace the oil and gas station workers. So after the Canadian truckers, the farmers in Holland, it is now the French gas station and oil workers. The blueprint of massive non-compliance with government directives works and should be copied everywhere in the world."

Putin at Russian Energy Week:

Russia will NOT sell oil under the risible G7-concocted price cap.

But THIS is way more crucial:

"Part of Nord Stream reportedly remains in working condition, Russia is READY TO START DELIVERIES through it."

And..

"Russia is ready to supply additional gas to Europe in the autumn-winter period."

Don't expect the Euro-oligarchy to grow an instant IQ above - very low - room temperature.

RUSSIA GAINS BACK THE UPPER HAND IN UKRAINE

On October 12, air alert sounded in different regions of #Ukraine for the third day in a row.

The eastern and central regions of the country were mostly affected, including the capital city of #Kiev.

While #Russian forces do not stop damaging the strategic military and energy infrastructure throughout Ukraine, Kiev is assessing the damage.

According to the Ukrainian Minister of #Energy, the two days of #missile strikes resulted in damage to about 30% of the country’s energy infrastructure.

Among the targets hit by Russian missiles, there are also strategically important military facilities.

For example, the #railway junctions were damaged in #Pavlograd, which is the main line of supplies for the Ukrainian grouping in the #Donbass.

Amid the ongoing missile and #UAV attacks, the Russian military gained the upper hand on some front lines.

Every crime implies motive.

The Russian government wanted – at least up to the sabotage – to sell #oil and natural #gas to the #EU.

The notion that Russian intel would destroy #Gazprom #pipelines is beyond ludicrous.

All they had to do was to turn off the valves.

NS2 was not even operational, based on a political decision from #Berlin. The gas flow in NS was hampered by western #sanctions.

Moreover, such an act would imply #Moscow losing key strategic leverage over the EU.

Diplomatic sources confirm that #Berlin and #Moscow were involved in a secret #negotiation to solve both the NS and NS2 issues.

So they had to be stopped – no holds barred.

Geopolitically, the entity that had the motive to halt a deal holds anathema a possible alliance in the horizon between Germany, Russia, and China.

THERE IS NO SINGLE WAR IN UKRAINE AND NATO IS IN TROUBLE

Not to beat a dead horse, but most of the world has a delusional image in their head of the war in Ukraine.

As I have written previously, much of the fault lies with Hollywood, which through a plethora of movies has conditioned the masses to think of war as the conquest of critical territory. But that is a misleading image when it comes to Ukraine.

Yes, there are strategically important pieces of territory that must be captured or defended, but there also are vast swaths of plains (we call them prairies here in the United States) that are tactically difficult to control and, if you succeed in capturing an area of land, you create a problem of how to defend it.

EUROPE’S DESCENT INTO TOTALITARIANISM

On 7 October 2022, late in the evening, at around 11.30 pm, I was detained at #Gatwick Airport in #London by anti-#terrorism police.

I was not released until shortly before 1 am and my computer was taken from me.

It has not yet been returned.

My passport and all my personal belongings – my wallet, my phone, my keys, everything – were removed.

I was taken to a room where I was questioned for an hour by two anti-terrorism police officers, acting under powers given to the police (as I learned for the first time) by Schedule 3 of the 2019 Counter-terrorism and Border Security Act.

The Act is supposedly designed to allow the police to detain ‘hostile actors’ who are travelling to the country to ‘plan, prepare or carry out their hostile acts’ (according to the leaflet the officers gave me).

But the Act itself says:

"An examining officer may exercise the powers under this paragraph whether or not there are grounds for suspecting that a person is or has been engaged in hostile activity"

So an Act ostensibly designed to allow hostile actors to be stopped in fact applies indiscriminately to everyone, according to its own explicit terms ...... MORE

US ARMY SET TO BUY COMPUTERIZED RIFLE SIGHTS FOR SHOOTING DOWN DRONES

The #US #Army has purchased #SMASH2000L computerized optical sight systems manufactured by the #Israeli defense firm #SmartShooter.

The company is highlighting the system’s anti-#drone role, and both the Army and the U.S. Marine Corps have already acquired a limited number of older SMASH 2000 variants for this very purpose.

SMASH 2000L sights, with the ‘L’ standing for ‘light’, are designed for use on a variety of small arms to facilitate more accurate target engagement — basically shooting things with computer-aided precision

PUTIN SAYS RUSSIA READY TO SEND NATURAL GAS TO EUROPE VIA NORDSTREAM2

#Russia is ready to supply gas to Europe on the one undamaged line on the #NordStream2 pipeline if the #EU wants to start the route, #Russian President Vladimir #Putin said at an energy forum in Russia on Wednesday.

Before the Nord Stream 1 and 2 leaks were detected at the end of September, Putin said that Russia had nothing to do with Europe’s energy crisis and that if Europe wanted more gas, it just had to “push the button” on Nord Stream 2 and “everything will get going,” that is, lift the sanctions on #NordStream2.

A few days later, Stephan Weil, Minister-President of the northwestern German state of Lower #Saxony, said that Germany could never rely on Russia for energy supply again, and the Nord Stream 2 gas pipeline project would never go ahead.

PARIS ABOUT TO BOOST MILITARY INTERVENTIONISM IN EASTERN EUROPE
The recently announced decision only tends to worsen current security crisis on the European continent

Contrary to all the recommendations by military experts to avoid further escalation in the #European security crisis, #France is apparently planning to expand its #military presence in other regions of the continent, mainly in the eastern part.

In a recent statement, the French Defense Minister, Sébastien #Lecornu, said that an increase in his country’s military capability in Eastern Europe is currently being planned, which considerably tends to escalate tensions in the near future.

On October 11, #Lecornu, revealed that France will cooperate with #NATO to deploy more troops and military equipment in Eastern Europe, as a way of reacting to the current situation of instability in the region.

According to him, armored vehicles will be sent to the East, mostly to be deployed in Romania, allegedly in an attempt to prevent foreign attacks and seek security stability.

At a meeting of the French Senate Committee on Foreign Affairs, Defense and Armed Forces, Lecornu said:

“In view of the situation on the eastern flank of NATO due to the fighting that Russia is waging in Ukraine, the president of the republic decided to strengthen our defensive position in eastern Europe by sending a brigade of armored vehicles and tanks to Romania”.

The defense minister also made it clear that #Paris plans to strengthen the NATO’s presence in the #Baltic region.

He said that France will soon be sending new #Rafaele fighter jets to #Lithuania.

In addition, French troops are expected to be deployed to #Estonia in the coming weeks.

Lecornu stressed that such measures are likely to be implemented between October and early November

CLIMATE SCIENTISTS WANT TO BAN DISSENTING VIEWS

Richard #Betts, (Head of Climate Impacts Research at Britain’s Met Office.) more than most people, should surely realise that this is not how you do science.

If you disagree with a particular #scientific study, you challenge it on a factual basis and point out exactly where it is flawed.

There is a well established method of doing this, which is to ask the Journal to print response to the original article.

Normally the paper’s authors would of course have a right of reply. That is the way the real facts are established.

To simply demand that the Journal withdraws the paper is the worst sort of censorship, and reminds us all of the dark days of Climategate, when such practices were rife whenever anybody dared to challenge the climate establishment’s agenda.

The study they complain about, Alimonti et al, was covered by me here, and was actually a pretty level-headed, uncontroversial assessment of the actual data ....... MORE

On September 14th the Daily Sceptic published an article reporting that four leading Italian scientists had undertaken a major review of historical #climate trends and concluded that declaring a ‘#climate #emergency’ was not supported by the data. (#Heresy! 😱)

They suggested that children should not be burdened with anxiety about the climate. (#Heresy! 😱)

The Daily Sceptic story was retweeted around 9,000 times, read by at least 24,000 people and was widely seen across social media.

It was picked up by print media such as the Australian and broadcast on a widely-distributed Sky News Australia clip.

Mention was made of the impressive credentials of the authors, who included two physics professors, an adjunct professor of physics and an agricultural meteorologist, and the wide variety of sources they had referenced.

The story sent shockwaves through the ranks of the ‘settled’ climate science community that takes a more alarmist approach to the prospects of humanity and the Earth’s climate.

As always with heretical stories like this, the mere suggestion that the climate is not breaking down runs the risk of destroying the need for a command-and-control Net Zero solution.

So today, #Ukraine is trying to down play its responsibility for the failed mission to take out the #Kerch #Bridge (yes, failed, because traffic is still flowing over the bridge) and some of #Kiev’s more mentally challenged supporters insisted that this was a #Russian #FSB op.

I received an email from one of these clowns, a Mr. Lane, who wrote:

"I am 💯% Reagan “we win they lose” and losing they are. Bigly. [#Bigly? 😂🤡] The Ukraines had nothing to do with the bridge by the way, that was total FSB work."

Got it?

Those Russians are so damn clever and so powerful that they tricked the Ukrainians into making a #PostageStamp with the image of two explosions on the Kerch Bridge.

Russia can do anything, it seems, when the West wants to paint #Moscow as a 21st Century Goliath.

I do believe that Russian intelligence had some inkling of this plot and the people involved before the blast took place.

RUSSIA FOILS ATTACK ON TURKSTREAM PIPELINE, SABOTEURS ARRESTED

The #Kremlin said several people were arrested Thursday during an attempt to #sabotage the #pipeline that links #Russia to #Turkey and Southern #Europe.

The pipeline has a capacity of 31.5 billion cubic meters per year and was launched in early 2020.


Kremlin spokesman Dmitry #Peskov said:

"Certain forces … have already made an attempt on TurkStream.

The saboteurs have been caught, and several people have been arrested.

They wanted to blow it up. On our territory, on soil,"

Peskov's comments come as Russia plans to transform Turkey into a central hub for Russian NatGas, then re-exporting it through Europe.

#Semiconductor stocks across the globe - in #HongKong, #Europe and certainly in the #US - are tumbling after the Biden administration on Friday unveiled new restrictions on #technology #exports to #China which are meant to undercut #Beijing's ability to develop wide swaths of its economy, from #semiconductors and #supercomputers to #surveillance systems and advanced #weapons.


As noted earlier, the US Commerce Department on Friday unveiled sweeping new regulations that limit the sale of semiconductors and chip-making equipment to Chinese customers, striking at the foundation of the country’s efforts to build its own chip industry.

The agency also added 31 organizations to its unverified list, including #YangtzeMemoryTechnologies and a subsidiary of leading chip equipment maker #NauraTechnology, severely limiting their ability to buy technology from abroad.


Under the new #CommerceDepartment restrictions, the company may be limited from selling #DUV technology to #Chinese customers too, #Citigroup analysts wrote.

“We are assessing the potential implications of the new regulations, if any, and cannot comment at this moment,” said Monique #Mols, a spokesperson for #ASML.

According to Patel of #SemiAnalysis, the unverified list is a serious threat to China’s tech ambitions.

In the past, the Commerce Department cut off access to critical technologies for companies like #Huawei when they were added to the so-called entity list, meaning the agency had gathered evidence against them.

The unverified list simply means the Commerce Department can’t verify that a company’s activities are safe.

“That is huge,” he said. “They can pretty much blacklist any company they want in China within two months.”

“The intent to slow down military supercomputers is clear, but there is potential for a protracted slowdown in adjacent markets as well,” and this could create risk for the computer supply chain in the first half of 2023, possibly impacting companies like #Intel, #AMD, #Nvidia, #Marvell, and #Broadcom
