Why the Ukrainian power system has not been destroyed, but only partially disrupted?

The main backbone, the backbone network with a voltage of 750 kV, continues to function quietly.

The backbone is concentrated in central and western Ukraine.This was done purposefully back in Soviet times, since the entire 750 kV network was created for the transportation of electricity from the nuclear power plants of the former Ukraine SSR to the MIR energy system (the unified energy system of the European COMECON member countries).

Recall that the power systems of the former Ukraine SSR, Bulgaria, Hungary, GDR, Poland, Romania and Czechoslovakia were controlled from the "Central Dispatch Control" of the MIR power system located in Prague.

There is still excessive generation of electricity in the western and central parts of Ukraine, which is transported to Europe via the 750 kV network (this network is highlighted with a bold red line on the map).

If the 750 kV network, together with substations (red triangles on map), is decommissioned by our missile strikes or kamikaze drone attacks, this will not only destroy the Ukrainian power system, but also completely nullify even the theoretical possibility of selling Ukrainian electricity to Western countries, since without the 750 kV network, Ukrainie will be forced to put nuclear power reactors into "cold" mode.

That's when a complete collapse of energy, transport and communications can really occur in Ukraine.

Why is Russia not yet striking at the 750 kV voltage backbone network?
There is an assumption that information has been brought to Kiev, Washington and London through unofficial channels that strikes will not be carried out on the backbone network yet, but if the Kiev regime tries to blow up the Kakhovka dam, then the retaliation will completely plunge Ukraine into the Stone Age.

Todd Humphreys’s offer to #SpaceX was simple: With a few software tweaks, its rapidly growing #Starlink constellation could also offer precise position, navigation, and timing.

The #US #Army, which funds Humphreys’s work at the University of Texas at Austin, wanted a backup to its venerable, and vulnerable, #GPS system.

Could #Starlink fill that role?

When the idea was first proposed in 2020, executives at SpaceX were open to the idea, says Humphreys.

Humphreys told MIT Technology Review that word came down from on high:

“Elon told the leaders we spoke to: every other LEO [low Earth orbit] communications network has gone into bankruptcy,”

And so we [SpaceX] have to focus completely on staying out of bankruptcy.

We cannot afford any distractions.”

But Humphreys wouldn’t take no for an answer.

For the past two years, his team at UT Austin’s Radionavigation Lab has been reverse-engineering signals sent from thousands of Starlink internet satellites in low Earth orbit to ground-based receivers.

Now Humphreys says his team has cracked the problem, and he believes that regular beacon signals from the constellation, designed to help receivers connect with the satellites, could form the basis of a useful navigation system.

Crucially, this could be done without any help from SpaceX at all........

Excess deaths have been rising in all age groups which includes a rise in deaths from heart attacks and recent studies have shown spike protein antibodies and vaccine mRNA in mother's breastmilk. But even without a plausible mechanism and circumstantial evidence, there is a glaring temporal correlation between mass vaccination and this historic spike in neonatal deaths.

Reports about Putin’s threat are false – Scholz

German Chancellor Olaf #Scholz has dismissed reports that #Russian President Vladimir #Putin has threatened to #escalate the conflict in #Ukraine.

When asked about the issue during an interview with #DieWelt newspaper on Saturday, Scholz said the media had been too loose in its interpretation of official reports from #Berlin on its discussions with #Moscow. (Basically he's accusing the #German #media of lying)

“For good reasons, I don’t speak about the negotiations that I have with the Russian president.

But here’s what I can say: The reports that I read about the alleged threats during these negotiations are false”

The Russian and German leaders last talked on the phone in mid-September.

According to Berlin, Scholz urged Putin to find a diplomatic solution for the conflict in Ukraine based on a ceasefire and the complete withdrawal of Russian troops during their 90-minute conversation.

Scholz also “emphasized that any further Russian annexation steps would not go unanswered and would not be recognized under any circumstances.”

According to the #Kremlin, Putin told Scholz about the incessant #shelling of cities in #Donbass by Ukraine, which had led to #civilian deaths and the destruction of infrastructure.

The Russian leader called it a “gross violation of humanitarian law” by #Kiev.

A few weeks after that, referendums on joining Russia were held in #Kherson and #Zaporozhye Regions, and in the People’s Republics of #Donetsk and #Lugansk, with the territories being officially incorporated into the Russian state in early October.

Earlier this week, Scholz told #Deutschlandfunk outlet that the tone of his conversations with Putin “is always friendly, even if we have very different views on the matter.”

“I think it’s important that we have this conversation,” the chancellor said, but added that one shouldn’t “harbor any illusions” about those contacts bringing swift results

But no #negotiations ever happened, as hawks repeatedly warned that any openness at all was, you guessed it, appeasement."

POLL REVEALS LEVEL OF RUSSIAN PUBLIC’S CONFIDENCE IN PUTIN


The proportion of Russian citizens’ confidence in President Vladimir #Putin stood at over 80%, according to the All-#Russian Public Opinion Research Center that published the results of a survey conducted from October 3 to 9 among 1,600 respondents aged over 18, reports #TASS.

“When asked about trust in Putin, 80.9% of respondents answered positively (-0.2% over the week), the approval rate of the Russian president’s work was 75.6% (-1.3 % over the week),” the pollsters noted.

Positive assessment figures for the Prime Minister and the Russian government stood at 50.8% (-1%) and 49.8% (-2.1%), respectively," the report stressed. Mikhail Mishustin was trusted by 62.4% of respondents (-1.3% over the week).
