Some economic facts which it seems many people are unaware of:
Oil:
Russia is the 3rd largest oil producer in the world, and 2nd largest oil exporter in 2020.
Russia exports as more oil than the UAE and Nigeria put together but less than Iran and the UAE together.
Canada's exports go almost exclusively to the US; the US overall consumes more oil than it produces.
Thus a cutoff of Russian oil from the EU, much less the world markets, would have enormous negative consequences for everyone except the US.
It would be an economic kneecapping.
Natural Gas:
Pretty clear cutting off Russian natural gas exports via actual interruption or SWIFT cutoff is only going to either crush economies or spur massive redirection of money flows into China/Russia clearing systems.
Metals, Fertilizer:
Reuters published a factbox about Russia’s weight in international commodity trade this week, according to which, as of last year,
Russia supplied :
Nornickel, the metals giant, is the world’s largest nickel miner, supplying 7 percent of global output but also the world’s largest palladium miner and one of the top platinum miners.
That’s not all, either, because Russia also produces 4 percent of global steel output and a tenth of global gold output.
Sanctions against its mining industry would, in all likelihood, lead to even higher commodity prices.
Yet besides metals—and oil and gas, which are the most obvious and most problematic sanction targets—Russia is also a major producer of fertilizers, accounting for 13 percent of the global total. It is also, critically, the world’s largest producer of wheat.

This is typical of the Ukrainian Gov response.
Almost one of their first coordinated responses to the crisis, after hours of complete inaction, was order the placement of rocket lauching, anti-aircraft and artillery systems in residential areas.
There is no military Tactical or Strategic reason for doing that.
The only reason for doing that is to endanger the local population in the event of Russian strikes on that position.
Essentially the Ukraine Gov act more like terrorists, threatening their own people, than like Gov which cares for its own people.
This proves they are nothing more than Gangsters, obsessed only with their own hold on power.

The townspeople, who were given weapons, in an atmosphere of confusion mistook a truck and an anti-aircraft gun of the Armed Forces of Ukraine for enemy equipment and opened fire on it.
The Kievans shot the crew of the truck, and the anti-aircraft gun managed to leave, crushing a civilian car in a panic
At the same time, this video looks like a more complete story (https://news.1rj.ru/str/stolknovenie/4715) of a vehicle being hit by a vehicle.
The deputies noted that the dead were identified, they are all servicemen of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

According to this video taken by a resident, the extreme-natonalist battalions like Azov/Right Sektor who have sealed off the city are shooting innocent civilian people who attempt to leave.
As a result, total chaos is beginning to take over city and surrounding environs.
Very Volatile situation.
They seem to want to use the local civilian population as expendable hostages.

⚠️ Kiev claims it can no longer guarantee the safety of nuclear sites in Ukraine as it cannot “fulfill in the full scope its obligations under the Nuclear Safety Convention” Ukrainian Ambassador to the United Nations Sergiy Kyslytsya said in a letter to the UN.
International Atomic Energy Agency's (IAEA) Director General Rafael Mariano Grossi says that “for now, the plants [in Ukraine] are operating as normal and their nuclear material remains under control.”

In it one can see a Ukr soldier and a Russian soldier monitoring the site, side by side.
When the Russians arrived at #Chernobyl both sides negotiated, and both agreed to call off hostilities at the site and work together in order to avoid disaster.
Ukraine's Nuclear Power sites are not under threat from the Russians.
