Will they try to void my warranty?

Hi, my laptop is missing a back panel screw and a rubber pad, and I want to repair some problems it has under the waranty cover: dead pixel, strange yellowish light on the edge of the screen and some squeaky coming sound like some fan that's being obstructed. I haven't tried to repair it once or do something that might void my warranty but I have seen that I'm missing a back panel screw and a rubber pad, is this a valid reason to void my waranty? I carry my laptop everyday hence the missing screw and rubber pad.

Best laptop for gaming

Hey yall, I currently have a MSI GE76 Raider that has an issue with its board needing a new power pin (or something like that). The shop I go to hasn't been able to find a replacement part and its a thousand usd to replace the whole board. I've had the laptop for a bit so was thinking of just upgrading.

I pretty much only use my laptop for gaming and would install windows 10 once i get it (hate u 11). I've seen online that the titan series is supposed to be good. Does anyone have experience or reccomendations for a msi laptop they like. Budget is flexible but was hoping with lots of storage I could get a beast within $4,000.

Cheers

Question about cool down time.

I have an MSI gf65 thin i5 10eu I repasted for the first time in my life with mx 6 last night. Anyway idel temps seem very much improved (31-35c) and the graphics aren't switching anymore. But it'll go from 65-70c while gaming then when I'm done it'll die down to high 40s then it takes literally forever to go back to low 30s. I'm afraid I didn't use enough paste because I was scared to use to much. Is it normal to take forever to drop from high 40s to low 30s after a session? I've never had a laptop only desktops so I'm new to all this.

MSI Thin 15 problems

(sorry if this is disorganized, I'm trying to get this working as soon as possible)

Just got an MSI Thin 15 from costco for just over $1k. I should've done more research, but it was the only gaming laptop there within my budget and my parents wouldn't have gotten me anything more expensive.

I'm shocked how bad the performance is. It has an RTX 4050, 16 GB RAM, 1TB SSD, and an Intel core 5 210H. My older MSI laptop had a core i5 1235u, and it ran games smoother than the Thin 15. When I'm playing graphically intense games, the framerate is very inconsistent(goes from 100+ fps to 40-13). Even when I'm playing The Strongest Battlegrounds on roblox, probably the easiest game to run, it still lags and the framerate drops. It freezes sometimes too, and some apps crash at random times.

I've tried a lot of stuff, but I eventually gave up and asked AI. It said that my CPU did better with single thread stuff and the games I play are meant to be multi threaded stuff. But what doesn't make sense to me is that, my old laptop's CPU is worse than my current laptop's CPU, so how are my frames so inconsistent? I figured it would run better than the other laptop I had right before getting my Thin 15, an Acer Aspire 15(Ryzen 5 7000 CPU, 32 GB RAM), which got over 100+ fps on games like fortnite on low graphics, while being consistent about it.

I'm 99% sure that I won't be able to return it and get a new one, since I just got this one a week ago after getting rid of the Aspire 15. What do I do about this? From what I'm understanding about all this, the performance for this laptop as a whole shouldn't be this bad, so why is it? What can I do to make it better?

Cyborg 15 thermal paste/pads

I wanted to repaste my laptop(cyborg 15 a13vf) and noticed it seems to have pink pads on most components instead of paste. Am I correct in assuming it'd not be the best idea to use thermal paste instead?
Thanks, any tips appreciated.

What thermal paste do you use (follow up)

I just bought the PTM 7950 as suggested by the comments in my previous post (check my profile for reference) and had my laptop repasted, I'm soo glad, the temps stick to 60°C.

I'd like to thank everyone who dropped their advice in my post and recommended it, to anyone else looking for a thermal paste, definitely suggest the PTM 7950. It truly works wonders and is legit

Fr thanks everyone. A happy gamer here😁😁

a huge problem of my laptop

Hey so i have no idea where else to post this so i will just post it here and hope somebody helps me

So i had a MSI GF63 THIN 11UC laptop for around 3 years and ever since i got it it had a horrible problem. When my laptop was unplugged, the internet connection was normal, but when i plugged it in, it barely worked (mainly in games, when browsing the internet or bassically doing anything other that gaming it was fine ) within those 3 years i tried bassically everything. I updated all my drivers and bios, i changed my network adapter's channel width value from auto to 20MHz, ( which made the wifi better but still absolutely atrocious and it randomly disconnected and didnt want to connect back until i restarted the laptop ) and many other things but nothing really worked.

For clarification my wi fi shows 5 bars both plugged in and unplugged

If somebody needs some more information then tell me in the comments

MSI Vector A18 HX A9W - Bios Update Need Help

Need some help, as I'm about to pull my hair out over this. So I have the original bios that came with the laptop: (E182LAMS.10E) and I'm trying to update to the latest version, mainly to fix the screen flicker issue to current (E182LAMS.117). Problem I'm having is that I've formated my 32gb USB, placed the bios file in the root, and tried placing it in respected named folder, but when in Bios trying to select the bios file off the flash drive it only shows <efi>. Tried going through MSI center to do the bios update but it says use windows update to update the bios, but alas, there's no bios update available through windows update. Not sure if and what I'm doing wrong, as I've flashed bios in the past on other systems without issue. Some quirkiness I'm not aware of?

MSI Thin 15b

MSI GP76 Leopard 11UG – overheating, fan issues, poor gaming performance

Hey everyone,
My brother and I both own an MSI GP76 Leopard 11UG, and we’ve both had several issues.

My laptop:
Early on, I had severe screen flickering during games, and later the screen stopped turning on completely (while the laptop itself still worked). I sent it to MSI, and after a few months I got it back. Those screen issues are fixed now.

The hinge is broken so I cant close it. The fact that the hinges are such poor quality is crazy.

Current issue:
The main problem is overheating during gaming. All drivers are fully up to date. When playing games like Assetto Corsa or GTA V (even on the lowest settings), my GPU usage jumps to 99% only during games. Is that normal?

At the same time, the GPU temperature goes above 90°C, even with Cooler Boost enabled at maximum. Performance feels far below what I’d expect from this hardware.

My brother’s laptop:
His laptop had a loud rattling fan. MSI repaired it, but after a ~2 month repair time, the noise came back within a week (now from the other fan). It’s currently back at MSI again.

Looking for advice:
Any advice on GPU usage, temperatures, or known GP76 issues would be greatly appreciated.

GF 63 keyboard

Hey guys,

So as the noscript suggests, I might have screwd up pretty bad. Long story short my mate managed to get a LOT of sprite all over the keyboard. Did all the smart steps and it worked but it got all sticky keys (wow suprise I know). Service places denied cleaning since it is a rivotted keyboard and they dont want to break it so either an external keyboard will be the way or an expensive change. Question is how compatible are older gen (like 8 or 9) keyboards with the newer 11 gen?

Alao if anyone has experience running this laptop more as a rig with external hardware I am open to any advice pro or contra. Thanks in advance

MSI center

Bonjour,

GP63 Leopard 8RE Charger busted?

Hi!

So I have a Leopard 8RE that I've been using for the past few years that I've been pretty happy with, but tonight it stopped charging all of a sudden.

I was playing Marvel Rivals and the game started lagging like if I was playing without the adapter in. When I checked, it was still plugged in but the little light on the adapter box wasn't on. I unplugged the charger from my powerstrip and plugged it back in, the light came on again and when I plugged the adapter back into the computer it started charging like normal. Until I turned MR back on and the laptop stopped charging and the light went off on the adapter again.

I wanted to test it with a different game but when I plugged a controller into the laptop the same thing happened. So I unplugged and re-plugged the adapter into the powerstrip again, but this time the light turned off as soon as I plugged it into the computer.

Now unplugging and replugging the adapter does nothing. It seems like it's just not taking any power in at all.

Can I replace the adapter and it'll be fine? Or is this potentially something wrong inside the computer I need to worry about? And how do I find a replacement adapter if that is it?
