MSI Vector GP68HX 13VH overheating? is it due for repaste/repair

These stats are after 10minutes of running Warframe on decently high settings

Hello all, I've been monitoring my temps lately and I'm unsure if i should repaste, undervolt or if this is normal cpu behavior. I have this laptop for 2 years now.

Specs include:
NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4080 Laptop GPU
13th Gen Intel i9-13950HX
2x 32GB Micron DDR5-5600 SDRAM 2800Mhz

When gaming i always use discrete graphics mode with 'extreme performance' user scenario with cooler boost or advanced fan speed of up to 150% with the sliders graph.

Out of precaution i already went to power options and lowered maximum processor state to 80%, i haven't changed anything in the bios.

I get stable performance in games like Warframe (+-140fps), but almost every session i see temps peak over 90celcius shortly and it's getting me more and more concerned.

I clean out the fans superficially with toothbrush and compressed air every 3-4 months (not detaching or unscrewing anything because i can't unplug the power cable for the battery and don't want to mess with anything). I'm not very knowledgeable about laptop repair or stuff like repasting.

I upgraded the ram to 2x 32GB Crucial DDR5 ram a year ago
Now i' m thinking about putting in a Samsung 990 EVO plus 2TB M.2 NVME, is this wise or will this add more heat into the system that it might not be able to handle?
Should the new drive need a heatsink or thermal pads?
Do the drives with heatsink even fit inside the laptop?

Should i send it to a professional repair shop and let them handle it?

Games drop to barely playable FPS when gaming

My games drop all the way down to 20-40 FPS when gaming and it's genuinely ragebaiting me. I do literally NOTHING and this happens. This happens to Marvel Rivals, Fortnite, and Black ops 2. (games that i know of) Anybody know how to fix?

BIOS lockout

Hello people, I have had a frustrating issue for the past few hours.

I am trying to run a dual boot between Linux and windows on my MSI Pulse GL66 laptop, and all was going well until I had to get into the BIOS

The second I did, password from when a few years ago, I decided to set a BIOS password. This really sucks since it locks me out of the BIOS entirely. Can’t even look at it before I type the password.

From what I know, I had a few options to try and fix it that hadn’t worked:

Poke the pin slot in the back with a paper clip for 30 seconds to reset, this did not work

Opened it up after powering down the laptop fully, and removed the battery for a solid 10 minutes, nothing.

Do I just call MSI support tomorrow? I’d rather not spend a ton of money on new parts, I just want the password lockout gone

Laptop keyboard backlight twitching - Katana GF66

It started yesterday. Sometimes when I type, the backlights turn off and on. If I put pressure, it goes off again. When I lift it, it goes on. What could be causing this issue?

Mi laptop Msi cyborg 15 A13V

Se sobrecalienta sin exigirle absolutamente nada (Solamente whatsapp abierto) llega a 100 grados, pero son picos de temperatura, por ejemplo llega a 100 y vuelve a 94 y asi sucesivamente. Esto merma mucho el rendimiento de la laptop, ya le cambié la pasta térmica, probé los rpm de los ventiladores, revisé el uso de la cpu y formateé por si era un problema de software, sigo con el mismo problema. Se me olvidó mencionar que la temperatura alta solo es en la cpu, la tarjeta de video está fresca, es lo que mas me extraña.

Got a blue screen of death on my Cyborg 15. Anyone know what these codes mean?

I was playing Sims 4 and it just shut down and restarted normally. This is what the Event viewer says:

Installing Windows 10 on a Windows 11 Laptop (Cyborg 15 A12VE)

Is it possible to install Windows 10 on an MSI laptop (Cyborg 15 A12VE) that came with Windows 11 preinstalled? I tried to click install (upgrade) it but got hit with "The upgrade option isn't available" because it couldn't find a previous Windows 10 installation on the machine.

Need help identifying this tiny component (Vector 16 Laptop)

# TLDR:

Need help identifying this tiny burned out component (burned out component is circled in RED while the same component undamaged is circled in GREEN for reference. I'm pretty sure it's a tiny fuse but wanted someone to confirm - ideally someone that could even tell me what size/type of fuse it is so I can try and order it. I have included 2 photos. A wide shot so it's easier to give context to where the component is located in the laptop (see my first comment) AND a close up to determine the component's relative size (seen above)

# What cause the damage and symptoms of the laptop:

My MSI Vector 16 (rtx 4090) laptop had a tiny amount of salt water spashed on it. I can still hear the chime it makes when it successfully boots to the Windows login screen (so the GPU, CPU, SSD and the RAM all seem to be functional) but the laptop's display now seems damaged as it remains off and the external HDMI port also no longer seems to work).

Sword 15 needs repair...

I have this laptop since 2022, HDMI port stopped working two days after warranty ended, then two keys fell. But i was able to stil use it without major issues. But now one of the fans is failing, making weird noises and stopping.

The thing is. I'm not in USA but i will go to L.A. next month, and i saw that there is a repair center there, but i won't stay more tham 10 days.

Any of you with any experience in that repair center? Any advice? Thanks in advance.

I have a news to share to you guys your rtx 50 series might not be performing the way it should be

I have an RTX 5050 laptop, and I was wondering why I was getting low scores in 3DMark and FurMark. It was working fine before.
Then I found out that you need to install the driver provided on the manufacturer’s website—the same place where MSI provides its official drivers. Trust me, it works.
I have tested this many times, and the MSI driver always gives higher frame rates, higher wattage, and better scores.
Please try this and confirm whether the same thing is happening with your laptops as well.

How to unlock under volting on Cyborg 14 A13VE

Hello, I just recently learned of this and have been looking into it. I found my way to the advanced bios using “Left ALT + Right SHIFT + Right CTRL (or FN+CoPilot Key) + F2”. I can unlock the under volt setting for my cpu but when I use the intel tuner it doesn’t allow me to under volt and says it’s still locked. Any help would be great thanks.
