My RAIDER A18HX A9W has no sound from the speakers, bluetooth and aux work fine.
The aux does work, so does the bluetooth but i can't play any sound from the speakers. And yes i'm not dumb, i have reinstalled all the audio drivers, and restarted my laptop. ItQ's strange how there is no posts on audio or sound in the last year. Feels like somethings off here... and it's not my sound.
And oh did i mention its a flippinh A18 raider HX A9W with a 5090 laptop GPU, AMD Ryzen 9 9955HX3D, and 64 GB ddr5 ram? I would expect for 4000 dubloons for the sound to work. I did get the warranty+premium pro deluxe, so if nobody has a real answer i will just go back to the store i bought it from.

Is it normal that my laptop just shuts down randomly during gaming?
Hello
I have a MSI Vector 16 HX A14VHG and during gaming my laptop just shuts down randomly and I'm not sure if this is normal or not. The laptop is just 1 year old and it's been happening for months already.
I have the laptop on extreme performance so all fans are working very hard and loudly.
I have to say, my laptop is just on my desk, I'm not using an external cooler or laptop riser. But could this possibly be the reason?
This is really troublesome and it's to the point I don't even feel like gaming anymore. I paid almost 2500 euros for this laptop, and I don't understand why this is happening.

MSI “Orange GPU Light Stuck On” in Hybrid Mode — what fixed it for me (manual steps + optional noscript later)
I’m posting this because I see a lot of MSI laptop owners stuck with the **orange GPU light** even while using **Hybrid / Optimus**. Mine would stay orange and fans would run more than expected, even when I wasn’t gaming.
This is what finally got my **white light back**.
# What this means (quick)
* **Orange light** = something is keeping the NVIDIA dGPU “awake”
* **White light** = dGPU fully releases / you’re on iGPU idle
On my system, it wasn’t a game doing it — it was an NVIDIA background process.
# ✅ Fix (manual, step-by-step)
**This is the exact way I tested and confirmed it works. No automation required.**
# Step 1 — Confirm you’re in Hybrid
* MSI Center / BIOS / whatever your model uses
* Make sure you’re in **Hybrid / MSHybrid / Optimus**
* (If you’re in Discrete/dGPU-only, white light is impossible)
# Step 2 — Close NVIDIA App if it’s open
This matters because killing the container while the NVIDIA App is open can sometimes make the app complain.
* Exit NVIDIA App completely (not just minimize to tray)
# Step 3 — End the NVIDIA container task (this is the “magic” part)
1. Press **Ctrl + Shift + Esc** (Task Manager)
2. Go to **Details** tab (or Processes if you don’t have Details)
3. Find:
* `nvcontainer.exe`
4. Right-click → **End task**
# Step 4 — Wait 10–30 seconds
After ending `nvcontainer.exe`, my MSI GPU light flips to:
* ⚪ **White** (dGPU released)
That’s it.
# Why this works (in plain English)
For me, `nvcontainer.exe` was holding the dGPU open after boot, even with nothing “obvious” using it. Restarting services didn’t work. Ending the process forces the dGPU to release and Optimus re-evaluates.
# Important notes / warnings
* Don’t spam end task repeatedly.
* Do it once after boot if you’re stuck orange.
* If NVIDIA App throws a “restart/reinstall” type message, it’s usually because it was open during the kill — just close the app and reopen it after.
# Optional: I can share a “one-click” version
I’m **not** telling people to automate it blindly, because every system is different — but once you confirm the manual method works for you, I can share:
* The exact **PowerShell noscript** that does the same thing
* The exact **Task Scheduler settings** (configured so it runs hidden and doesn’t leave a terminal open)
* How to export/import it so others can use it
If you want it, reply and I’ll drop it in the comments (or DM if you prefer).
If you try the manual method, please comment:
* MSI model
* NVIDIA GPU
* Windows version
* Did ending `nvcontainer.exe` flip it to white?
* I can try and help you directly if you'd like!

Battery Charging Issue with GS63 Stealth 8RE
After I did a full disassembly to unplug and replug the keyboard cables, the computer isn't detecting that the battery is charging when plugged in.
The charge was run down to 0% accidentally and the battery LED isn't lighting anymore when plugged in. I unplugged the battery and plugged it back in, and now the computer is seeing the battery has a charge after being plugged in for days. LED still not lighting and the computer isn't indicating it sees it's charging.
Any tips?

How to get my device to boot into windows with internal monitor unplugged
I'm laptops back light stopped working 2 months back and I want to be able to use it with an external monitor in I can just leave it as is and use a key board but I want to remove the monitor completely and just use the flat laptop and the monitor however im testing by just disconnecting the laptop monitor it just does not boot into windows at all and it shows nothing on the screen or on any external monitors I attach if all else fails ill just saw the top of the monitor off to give room for the external one to show behind it. But I'd like to leave that for a last ditch effort. Sorry for the lack of punctuation

MSI MODERN 15
Help! I just got my MSI Modern 15 laptop, but the battery only lasts about 2–3 hours, even though I mostly use it for web browsing. I also noticed that the left side, near the QWERTY keys and the charging port, gets hotter than the other side. When I say hot, it’s definitely noticeable—you won’t burn your fingers, but you can clearly feel the heat while typing. I even set it to Battery Saver mode, but the battery still drains quickly. Should I return it?

Msi Katana 15 HxB14W Unusual fan behavior and static noise (Coil Whine?)
I recently purchased a new Msi Katana 15 HxB14W 5070 and I’ve noticed a few things. Since it’s a brand-new device, I want to make sure if these are "normal" MSI characteristics or potential defects.
1. Static/Crackling Noise (Coil Whine?): I can hear a slight static/buzzing noise coming from under the keyboard. Sometimes I can even hear it from a normal sitting distance (about 30-40 cm) while watching videos, especially when the laptop is in Extreme Performance Mode. It seems to happen every 20-30 minutes. Is this common coil whine for this model?
2. Staggered Fan Start on Cooler Boost: When I trigger "Cooler Boost" via MSI Center, the fans don't start at the exact same time. One fan ramps up first, and the other follows about 1-2 seconds later. Is this a built-in firmware feature to manage the initial power draw?
3. Humming Sound (Resonance): When the laptop is sitting on my desk, there is a low-frequency "vuv vuv" humming/vibrating sound. As soon as I lift the laptop up in the air, the sound disappears completely. I suspect air turbulence or desk resonance, but I wanted to check if anyone else has this.
4. 2K Display & Performance: This model has a 1440p (2K) screen. Does this resolution significantly increase the stress on the components even during light tasks, potentially causing more coil whine?
The laptop performs great otherwise, and the screen is beautiful. I'm just a bit paranoid because it's new. I would appreciate any feedback from other MSI owners!
Thanks!

Laptop shuts down and no longer detects SSD hard drive
Good afternoon everyone and happy holidays.
I'm having a big problem with an MSI laptop.
The OC will either turn off or on randomly, then go straight into the BIOS, not detecting any hard drives with an operating system.
It started doing this last summer, and I thought it was due to the extreme heat. Despite the air conditioning, the ambient temperature here was around 40°C, and I use the PC heavily. So I cleaned the fans and removed some dust, but it didn't solve anything.
I also replaced the SSD, thinking the hard drive was failing, but after four months of flawless operation, the problem recurred.
Now, after keeping it off for about 15 days, it started working again.
So I certainly don't have the reliability needed to work with it.
Does anyone know what the problem might be and how to fix it?
Thanks to anyone who can answer.

MSI HX 16 AI Battery Concern
Hello!
so recently with this laptop, the battery has been decreasing around 1% every 2-4 days and this has been a consistent issue. When I first had this issue I simply turned off fast startup in control panel and it seemed to temporarily fix the issue. The battery went from 91% and charged back up to 100%. However, this issue seems to be occuring again and with fast startup turned off, im unsure what could be causing this issue. When turning off the laptop and leaving it overnight, the battery still does not charge up. It was sitting at 94% for a while and dropped to 93% recently. I have checked task manager and im certain that there is no application that could be draining the battery execeptionally fast. Battery related issues is not my forte so any help would be greatly appreciated!

Is it really that bad for a budget gaming laptop
Hello im looking to buy my first gaming laptop as i want to leave my ps4 and want to play hogwarts legacy (which i got free) and cod warzone but rn the prices are bad and probably will be even worse with the RAM prices increasing. I know the thin 15 isnt a powerhouse but could it last like 2-3 years playing these games and using it for coding and school?
What performance can i expect from it since its the cheapest in my country for about 700 usd with a ryzen 5 and a 4050
