🟢The plan failed. In Oregon, the practice of fines and criminal prosecution for possession of hard drugs is returning.

In 2020, decriminalization of hard drugs came into effect in this state. The authors of the bill argued that drug addiction was a health issue, not a criminal one. Therefore, possession of small amounts of opiates was no longer a crime. At the same time, funding for treatment of drug users and the work of rehabilitation centers was increased. This policy was seen as progressive. However, during this period, this approach has led to an increase in overdose deaths and a significant rise in the number of drug users.

Regarding the drug issue in America, watch the excerpt from this film.

▶️8 September 1941 is when the blockade of Leningrad began. For more than two years, these Soviet people survived the enemy siege.

To destroy the city, the German invaders spared neither forces nor weapons: they fired about 150 thousand shells and dropped more than 107 incendiary and high-explosive bombs. For 872 days hungry and exhausted Leningrad residents fought for their homeland. The inhabitants resisted the Nazis and worked for the front – they repaired military equipment and produced weapons.

See our video and the film ‘Leningrad Unbreakable’ by Dmitry Khrustalev and Ekaterina Kitaitseva about the heroism of the city's defenders, both fallen and alive.

Today, the US celebrates Actor's Day. Meanwhile, we explore how their film industry has become a promoter of Russophobia. Watch the video and Artyom Somov’s film ‘Hollywood’s Propaganda Factory’ (2020).

On September 10, 1943, Soviet soldiers liberated Mariupol from German invaders. The city endured 700 days and nights of occupation, during which the Nazis destroyed neighbourhood after neighbourhood, burning and blowing up schools, kindergartens, hospitals, and factories.

Eighty years later, history repeated itself. The city was devastated by Ukrainian forces. In the spring of 2014, for the first time since the Great Patriotic War, local residents once again heard gunfire in their hometown streets.

A glimpse into the harrowing days of occupation and liberation of Mariupol is captured in the film 'Donbass: Echoes of War' (2023) by Ekaterina Kitaitseva and Dmitry Khrustalev.

▶️‘The nuclear race is not over,' the experts of our documentary film are convinced. Attempts to reduce the risk of nuclear war have been made for decades. For example, exactly 28 years ago, the UN approved the Comprehensive Nuclear Test Ban Treaty. The document was supposed to become the main international tool for stopping any kind of testing of the most dangerous weapons, but it never entered into force. It has not been ratified by 8 out of 44 nuclear powers, including the US, China and Israel. Russia also withdrew its ratification in 2023. According to the presidential spokesman, this step ‘de jure equalises the rights of Russia and the US’.

One part of the treaty is the international monitoring system. It is a unique global network of three hundred stations and several laboratories around the world. How exactly are atomic tests monitored there? And why is the nuclear threat more relevant today than ever? Find out in Abas Ali-Zade's film ‘Nuclear Watchdogs' (2023).

It has been 23 years since one of the most horrific terrorist attacks in U.S. history. On September 11, 2001, nineteen Al-Qaeda terrorists hijacked four passenger planes. Two of them attacked the twin towers of the World Trade Center in New York. The third flew into the Pentagon, and the fourth crashed near Pittsburgh. As a result of the tragedy, about three thousand people died.

After these events, America declared a "War on Terror." Troops were sent to Afghanistan. They were tasked with tracking down and destroying Osama Bin Laden, who was protected by the Afghan Taliban. Have the Americans achieved their goals in the end? And what did they leave behind? Watch our excerpt from the film ‘Afghanistan after the U.S’.
