In 1986, Geoffrey Hinton co-authored a paper that, three decades later, is central to the explosion of artificial intelligence (AI). But Hinton says his breakthrough method should be dispensed with, and a new path to AI found.
Speaking with Axios on the sidelines of an AI conference in Toronto on Wednesday, Hinton, a professor emeritus at the University of Toronto and a Google researcher, said he is now "deeply suspicious" of back-propagation, the workhorse method that underlies most of the advances we are seeing in the AI field today, including the capacity to sort through photos and talk to Siri. "My view is throw it all away and start again," he said.
The bottom line: Other scientists at the conference said back-propagation still has a core role in AI's future. But Hinton said that, to push materially ahead, entirely new methods will probably have to be invented. "Max Planck said, 'Science progresses one funeral at a time.' The future depends on some graduate student who is deeply suspicious of everything I have said."

We are seeking a full-time (35 hrs/week) research assistant specialized in MRI image analysis who will work with the Centre’s Director, in collaboration with other Principal Investigators, in conducting fMRI resting state connectivity analysis, and univariate and/or multivariate task-based fMRI analysis on human fMRI data using existing software packages. The candidate will also be responsible for conducting regular literature reviews to keep up-to-date on novel fMRI analysis tools available, for learning how to analyse data using these novel tools, and for supporting the Centre’s students and staff on conducting fMRI analyses.
All applicants must be eligible to work in Canada. In addition, the successful candidate must have:
A minimum M.Sc. or a B.Sc. with at least 2 yrs experience as an fMRI image analyst and excellent academic training in the area of either: psychology, neuroscience, biology, engineering or computer science
Expertise in FMRI image processing and analysis
Experience working on Linux operating systems
Experienced in using Matlab
Experience with SPSS and MS Office Suite
Research interest in neuroscience and mental health
Good written and oral communication skills in English
Ability to work well in a team
Preferred Qualifications:
Good written and oral communication skills in both English and French
Experience in programming using R, C++ and/or Matlab
Experience contributing to scientific papers and presenting at scientific conferences
Ability to work independently and problem solve
Salary is commiserate with experience:

یادمه وقتی دانشجوی کاردانی بودم هزینه این را نداشتم که کلاس رباتیک شرکت کنم و خدا سلامت کنه استادم دکتر ذباح ایشون قبول کردن که بدون هزینه در کلاس ها شرکت کنم و دنبال علاقه ام باشم. و این راه ادامه دارد.
بنده در ادامه این بحث یک زمینه خوب تحقیقاتی را قصد حمایت دارم که اخیرا Andrew NG هم فرموند که این زمینه تحقیقاتی در اینده مهم ترین زمینه تحقیقاتی خواهد شد و جمله ایشان به این صورت است:
