The Pentagon IG report says Secretary of the army McCarthy called DC. National Guard Commander Walker twice before 5 PM authorizing him to take appropriate action on January 6th.
Walker testified before Congress that he was frustrated because he did not receive authorization from the Pentagon until after 5 PM.
Three weeks later, Walker was promoted to House Sergeant at Arms by Nancy Pelosi.

I am not a good person.
In August 2014, 9 soldiers were injured. I asked for permission to return fire/fight back.
Was denied.
Made a hasty decision to resign my commission. Come home (after finishing my deployment).
Ran for Congress. Twice.
Lost. Twice.
I was arrogant. I was angry. I was a self-righteous know-it-all.
Then God humbled me.
And I’m glad He did.
I don’t deserve His grace, but He freely gave it.
That’s why I advance the gospel.
I know what I am saved from.
I want others saved too.
And I’m good with looking like a moron or a Bible thumper.
Amen.
Now, go to war.
