This teaching, from Matthew 5:23-24, emphasizes that making amends is a priority over worship and that reconciliation with others is necessary before a sincere offering can be made. 
• Leave your gift: If you are in the process of offering your gift at the altar, and you remember a conflict with a brother or sister, you should set your gift aside.
• Go and be reconciled: Your first action should be to go and make peace with that person.
• Then come and offer your gift: Once you have been reconciled, you can then return to offer your gift to God.
