Today’s Bible verse! I want to share part of the devotional today, that I really needed to hear after a very trying day at work. “So if you claim to be wise and understand God’s ways, prove it by the way you live. And when questions arise—go to the One who has answers. Even on the most overwhelming of days, trust that God is by your side.” If we’re followers of Jesus, we can prove that & share that by living in a way that reflects His love. And He’ll be there by our side as we live for Him. It’s through those good works, that others will see the Holy Spirit moving through us & and seek the wisdom of God for themselves. Father God, today we thank you for the wisdom you’ve given us to know how to live & love others! Please continue to teach us how to live, so that we might live for You! In Jesus name we pray, Amen! 🙌🏽❤️🔥🙏🏽✝️🌈✨

In the Himba tribe of Namibia in Southern Africa, the date of birth of a child is fixed, not at the time of its arrival in the world, nor in its design, but much earlier: since the day the child is thought in His Mother's mind.⠀
⠀
When a woman decides she's going to have a child, she settle down and rests under a tree, and she listens until she can hear the song of the child who wants to be born. And after she heard this child's song, she comes back to the man who will be the father of the child to teach him that song.
And then, when they make love to physically design the child, they sing the song of the child, to invite him.⠀
⠀
When the mother is pregnant, she teaches the singing of this child to the midwives and older women of the village. So, when the child is born, old women and people around him sing his song to welcome him.⠀
⠀
As the child grows, the other villagers learn his song. So if the child falls, or gets hurt, he always finds someone to pick him up and sing his song. Similarly, if the child does something wonderful, or successfully passes through the rites of passage, the people of the village sing his song to honor him.⠀
⠀
In the tribe, there is another opportunity where villagers sing for the child. If, at any time during his life, the person commits an aberrant crime or social act, the individual is called in the center of the village and the people of the community form a circle around him. Then they sing his song.⠀
⠀
The tribe recognizes that the correction of antisocial behavior does not pass through punishment, it is by love and reminder of identity. When you recognize your own song, you don't want or need to do anything that would harm the other.
And the same way through their lives. In Marriage, songs are sung together.⠀
⠀
And when, getting old, this kid is lying in his bed, ready to die, all the villagers know his #song, and they sing, for the last time, his song...

Todays Bible verse! Usually when I read the verse each day, I also read the full chapter, and the devotional. Today after having a chat with our HR manager at work, I read today’s verse, & then went to the beginning of chapter 5, which was noscriptd “Freedom in Christ”, and started reading, “1 “For freedom did Christ set us free: stand fast therefore, and be not entangled again in a yoke of bondage.” For us, as a couple that works for the same company, this verse was an answer form our Father to help us in the decision we have to make tomorrow. And the devotional further helped me understand how this decision is preparing us for our next phase in life for God’s will! I want to share it today & pray you all are blessed by the message in the verses & message shared! 🙌🏽❤️🔥🙏🏽✝️🌈✨
Bible Devotional: 6-16-22
Cultivate what matters
Imagine you have two seeds in your hand and you can only plant one. One seed grows easily, but it produces ugly, terrible tasting fruit. Cultivating the other seed takes time and consistent attention—but the fruit it produces is beautiful and delicious. Which seed would you choose to plant, water, and grow?
In Galatians 5, the apostle Paul talks about two types of fruit our lives can produce: fruit of the flesh and fruit of the Spirit. “The flesh” refers to our desires that pull us away from God’s Holy Spirit. Those desires produce hate, impatience, bitterness, selfishness, rudeness, chaos, anxiety, and self-indulgence—and God has no association with such things.
But when we commit our lives to Jesus, He gives us His Holy Spirit. The power of the Holy Spirit helps us “crucify” the desires of our flesh and put them to death. And when we crucify those desires, we create room for the Holy Spirit to produce fruit in us that leads to positive life change.
“The fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, forbearance, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control.”
Galatians 5:22-23 NIV
Our flesh wants to get even, but the Spirit calls us to extend kindness. Our flesh wants to entertain sinful thoughts, but the Spirit calls us to walk in self-control. Our flesh wants to dictate our emotional response, but the Spirit calls us to walk in joy and peace.
The Fruit of the Spirit reveals that we are actively seeking God and rejecting disobedience.
So right now, reflect on your life. What fruit is it producing? Are you experiencing love, joy, peace, patience, and kindness—or are there pockets of bitterness, anger, jealousy, and self-indulgence in your life?
What steps do you need to take to “crucify” beliefs and attitudes pulling you away from God? Let the Holy Spirit show you what you need to remove, and then let Him transform your attitudes, actions, and desires.
