Assam Police arrested a retired Indian Air Force officer identified as Kulendra Sarma, a resident of the Patia locality in Tezpur on charges of alleged links with a Pakistani espionage network on Friday night.
Sarma was posted as a Junior Warrant Officer at the Air Force Station in Tezpur, where key air assets, including a Sukhoi 30 squadron, are in place.
He had retired in 2002. He then worked at the Tezpur University briefly.
He was allegedly in touch with and supplying sensitive information to individuals linked to a Pakistani spying agency.

Both are natives of Jammu and Kashmir and are believed to be part of a network linked to Pakistani handlers.
According to police, the two suspects allegedly
shared sensitive information through a Telegram channel connected to handlers across the border.
An Arunachal Pradesh Police official said the accused
passed on details related to Army movements, locations of defence camps and other critical security-related information.
