In a series of "precision waves" occurring between 02:00 AM and 04:30 AM on July 13, 2025, the ULFA-I Eastern Command Headquarters at Hoyat Basti and Camp 779 at Waktham Basti (Sagaing Region, Myanmar) were hit by over 100 "Kamikaze-style" UAVs.

The initial strike reportedly killed Lt. Gen. Nayan Asom, with a subsequent "follow-up missile attack" during his funeral rites claiming the lives of Brig. Ganesh Asom and Col. Pradip Asom.

While the NSCN-YA and RPF/PLA also reported significant casualties and condemned the "barbaric act of techno-warfare," the Indian Army officially maintained there was "no information or input" regarding such an operation.
