Sometimes humour can be used to get a message across, and/or
get people to start thinking about something in a certain way.
It can sit easier in the subjects mind,
after you have had a quick giggle, or a laugh.

Also, what works well is shock humour or mocking,
then saying your point that you wish to sit in the viewers mind.
It is like planting a seed in some ways.

The government and media excel in this approach,
for any agenda that they push;
War on Terror, Drugs, Phone Hacking, Weapons of mass destruction, Losing trillions at the pentagon, 2008 crisis, and much more.
Well it pretty much covers everything they do, when you think about it!

The methods they use are tactical in every way.
As I said; It is like planting a seed in some ways.
