2020年7月22日，埃塞航ET3739（全货机，B777-200LR/ET-ARH）在浦东机场起飞前起火，机身上半部烧穿报废。
记者取得调查报告指，起火原因应是主货舱中装载二氧化氯消毒片剂在高温环境中受潮自燃。当日上海最高气温34℃，露天的航空货站堆垛内温模拟测得80℃、货品薄膜内侧结露，加之散热不利导致自燃。
报告查明，托运方和货主申报时，仅使用了对货品中部分吸附1%二氧化氯纳米材料制品的“非限制性货物”的运输条件鉴定书，未申报货品中其他部分片剂粉剂被鉴定为“危险品”的情况，涉嫌瞒报货物品名。机场安检核对货品与鉴定书“样品外观”一栏描述的颗粒状吻合，遂予放行。
报告建议国际民航组织进一步研究细化不同含量二氧化氯品的航空运输条件。
